    The numbers on it are:

That's it!! Thank you for posting that pic. That's the one that came on my 77 442 when it was new. I remember it well now that I see the picture. So now the search begins!!

Thanks Peter, I was looking for that book last evening.

Hopefully it mentions '77 on the cap being sought. It even covers the radiator and oil caps.

My Cap looks the same as Texxas. I know it's OEM. I mentioned before I have had the car since new. So I KNOW all the parts I have changed. No one but me has EVER worked on my car. Well except the paint guy. I did find a NOS cap last year on e-bay. Your going to hate me! $15.00. But if you want i can sell it to you for $275.00! Canadian money!

It may depend on what plant your car was built at.

The Monte built in Texas. I am getting the impression parts were not necassarily identical plant to plant or month to month. I assume they installed what was available from their suppliers.

Yep, I agree. My car, Tex's '76 and Kelvin's '77 were all three built in Arlington, TX, yet Tex's gas cap is different than ours. Must have been a case of whoever supplied the gas caps that month! It is interesting to see all of the little differences in these cars.

Mine was a GA car. Are we saying that each factory had different caps?
