    Meet Jolene

OK....I have been posting on here for 4 or 5 years now, but have yet to "show you the car". This is the car my then not quite 16 year old son purchased for his first car 4 years ago....a 1976 plain jane Cutlass Supreme (350 V8, vinyl bench seat...you get the picture ). BTW, he named it Jolene.

It was and is a Buffalo NY survivor and now has only 64k miles on the odometer. Yes there is some rust, but we have replacment fenders and a passenger door (from memeber Revots) yet to be installed. Its a great fair-weather daily driver that runs GREAT and should be driven more than it was this past summer.

The first picture is the day of purchase. The second picture is with his high school calc teacher who has that Olds 98 which is apparently a real sleeper and is NOT your grampa's oldsmobile!

We would like to have done more "restorative" work to it by now, but the priorty right now is his college education.

Very cool! I wish my high school calc teacher had an Olds. I might have gotten a better grade! Instead, I had a miserable old woman who had no idea that she had zero teaching skills. Jolene's got some nice potential!

Next summer we should plan on cruising down the thruway and meeting up for a beer.

    I agree

That would be cool. My son can be the DD.

I drive thru 'cuse on way to Drum at least twice per month (at all different hours of the night and day) and think about you and your Oldsmobiles every time!

Maybe sometime I'll make some time to meet-up with ya.

Nice first ride! Your son has good taste, he's probably one of the few young people that can appreciate a real car .

Take the modern iron out of the pictures and they could almost pass for late 70s- yer boy has the hair for it!

Nice ride and in amazingly good shape for a 35 year old northern car.

Cool car and story. Glad he is interested in and older Olds instead of some loud buzzing muffler POS.

    More Pictures

Adding a few pictures taken this past November with my old crappy cellphone.

He gave it an exterior cleaning before parking it for the winter.

Thank you to everyone who has commented.

I'd say the car is a 20 footer from the driver's side and a 30 or 40 footer from the passenger side.
