Dear Friends, Hello to all!
I have a question please, and I would like someone to help me with this.
I have been looking for the longest of all time to find a 1976 or 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. In the beginning, I thought it came with a 455 4 spd option. Well, I found out after being educated with time that the only way you can get a manual transmission in these two years is to get it coupled with a 260 V-8 and it would be to my surprise not a 4-speed but a 5-speed overdrive.I almost bought a 76 442 260 V-8 with the manual tranny, but it got sold to another fellow. Now, I came across a Cutlass S with the sloop nose and it is the exact car as the 442, only I don't know the detailed differences there are between the tow cars.
So......After this lengthy story (please excuse me for that friends)
My question is this:
What are the true differences between the 1976 Cutlass S and the 1976 442
with both manual 260 V-8's?
Are they the same exact equipped cars minus the 442 decal badging option?
Please if anyone out ther knows these cars kindly let me know.
Also, if anyone has a 76 442 unrestored with the manual tranny please let me know too.
I appreciate your valuable time in reading this question and taking the time to respond.
