what's the deal with the indy 500 tires? seems like a popular tire for these cars. Any reason for it?

Not that I'm aware of. Arn't they a Firestone tire? Maybe they were purchased cheap after that big tire recall a few years ago? I will say, I've always liked the looks of these cars in red with white top, white pinstripe and raised white letter tires. A buddy had a '76 Regal like that years ago, It was a sharp car.

i have the firehawk indys ---- got them after i went to the race for the first time. I probably won't go back... i often feel dumb with 'indy 500' on my tires. Think they were the same price as BF Goodriches.
