Ladies & Gentlemen,

I just spent 2 and a half hours on the phone with Len Casillo. Len was the GM designer responsible for the design and development of the 1976-77 Cutlass, Supremes & 442 models (among many Oldsmobiles as he was at GM for 40 years!). Len has some incredible stories from during those years. Long story short, I will be doing a story on Len for the July issue of Journey With Olds magazine. If you are not an OCA member, you should sign up soon. Visit www.oldsclub.org for more details.

I also discussed the 2008 OCA National Meet with Len. He has the show on his schedule and will try his best to make it there. He was very excited to share his Olds stories with me and seemed very interested in attending the Nationals for a day since he lives near Detroit. Len still has a very soft spot in his heart for Oldsmobiles. If he can make it to the show, I plan on getting him to sign the trunk lid of my car, as he was responsible for designing it. Make your reservations now, it should be fun!

I hope we have a good showing of 76 -77 models at the OCA Nationals, especially if Len is there. I hope he will sign my car. Since the OCA National's are this close to Lansing Michigan we should get a good turn out of all years. I just wish the National's and the Dream Cruise were the same week. Now that would be a Show for everyone!!!

Hope to see everyone there.

Denny

Thanks Brad! I will be anxiously waiting to read the article. Unfortunately, I won't be at the OCA Nats. this year.

The JWO is great! :) I look forward to finding it in my mailbox every month.

It would be cool to meet the guy who designed my car. I would like to go but I think my car would be outclassed at an event like this. I've been to the Olds museum in Lansing and would love to go to the GM Heritage center. I'll have to think about it.

I know my cars would be outclassed also. They aren't show cars in any way, shape, or form. They're far from perfect, as I know quite a few others out there on this forum are the same way. I would love to go anyway, with both my cars as they are, and get some numbers to represent the 73-77 crowd, to show that there are more of us out there, and we aren't forgotten! Anyone make the trip through Canada to Detroit?

Guys, I cannot stress enough that it does not matter what your car looks like to join in the fun. The best part is having your car there and enjoying the show and meeting & talking with other members. Even if you feel your car does not look good enough, you will regret not having it there if you go to the show...

That's great news Brad. I should be there with my junk, hope to meet up with some of you. Bert, I think I've said this before, but I've made that trip across Canada from upstate NY to Detroit, it's a nice drive.

I finally sent in my app. for the OCA, look forward to getting the JWO magazine also.
