I think this site is a great way to handle the Olds fix, but I am really coming to the realization that I need my cars out of storage in the worst way. All of you that have access to your rides on a daily basis, man am I jealous. My cars went into storage in November and I have not seen them since. It works out OK, as the person I store with has a garage that's 75' x 180'. Once he locks up, no one goes in until spring and it makes sure nothing happens to anything inside.

To top it all off, I am driving around yesterday (in my stupid *#&^^$! Impala) and I come across not just one car, but two that really pissed me off. First, a one of 1097 1973 H/O. Rotting into the ground. No engine or tranny, every body panel on the car dented and rotting, hood louvers for some miraculous reason still intact, no rear window, back seat FULL of leaves. What is wrong with these people??? He won't sell it either. "Maybe $3500-$4000 as it sits." Ummm, hello? My 73 purchased running and driving for $3500.

Next car, 1977 442. Yellow with black stripe, quarters-rot, fenders-rot, header panel-broken, three grill inserts OK, passenger door-smashed, on a good note, the interior looked OK. Oh well, what can one do? No F/S or phone number, sitting in a parking lot to a deserted collision business.

I need my cars out BAD!

Thanks for allowing me to vent!

Bert, think of the bright side. When we "northern" fellows take our cars out in the spring, we fall in love with them all over again. If we had access to them all year 'round, we might not enjoy them as much. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Finally got the cars out this weekend. It's good to put some miles on them! Hopefully there will be no more winter surprises. I took some pics of the cars I spoke of up above for your viewing pleasure. It would be nice if I could just have a bottomless wallet. These definitely don't deserve to rot.

how much for getting the wheel well molding off yellow car? it is abandoned (sp) call the cops and see if they will let you hall it away after they know it is not stolen. I was doing the above once on a 66 toro. I called cops and ask how i could clam an abandoned car, he said i need to get some forms from them list all info let them to a back ground on it, if not stolen and now owner wanted to clame it. it was mine then i would have had to go to dmv with cop info and apply for a replacement title.

I would check onit before it gets towed, if it gets towed find out were and goto auction.

No info on the yellow car as far as phone # or anything. It was unlocked, so I nosed around inside. The interior looks pretty good actually. Driver bucket has some small tears, driver door had no lower panel, has rallye gauges, console, headliner good, dash OK, stereo ripped out, plate broken. Popped hood, has 350 with 3a heads with headers? The headers go from two pipes to single exhaust. Weird. I'll have to look into that. Someone painted the air cleaner yellow and black too. Non air car. Outside has a lot of rot around the bottom of all the car. Hood solid, along with header panel, right grill broken. Headlight trim peeling, but solid. Front bumper might be rechromable, rear is rotted through. Rear tailights good. It is quite a unique color setup. I would add this to my collection in a heartbeat. It would give me a "stoplight" theme. There is a phone number on a sign for the collision place where this is parked. But it had been sitting so long the asphalt underneath the tires has sunk 1-2 inches. There are a few houses nearby, so I don't think I could get away with any late night reconnaisance missions. I'll see what I can find out. Like I said, it doesn't deserve to rot.
