I was thinking of adding an electric trunk release I have laying around. The wiring diagram for 75 cutlass says orange wire. I found the orange wire plug near the glove compartment. 12 volts always on. Do all the the wiring harnesses a wire to the rear plug in the trunk??? In see there is a brown wire with a plug not being used near the oronge plug that will be the feed. I don't want to run a new wire to the trunk swtich if I don't have to. The wiring diagram really doesn't tell you the pin out at the trunk plug behind the back seat.
Has anyone done much work on this circuit?

Thanks

Plug and play, very simple.
The wiring to the trunk is alraedy there.
Plug your switch at the glove box, and plug the wire at the trunk.
There is only one spot it can plug into behind the seat.

Now have a beer and enjoy.
You can tell everyone what a PIA it was !!

Thanks Joe, what color would the wire be leaving the dash through the body to rear? I take it would back feed back over to the drivers side and through the harness back to drivers side of the trunk. The push button and electric switch have the ends cut off so it is hard tell where it would connect into the existing harness. My car didn't have an electric release so would I have to run another wire from the rear harness connector throught he trunk lid?

I honestly don't remember, I just remember doing it and it was just plug and play.
The wire from the glove box to rear of the car is already there, as is the wiring for the foot lamps and the dash clock
Your right though, the hardest part is feeding the wire from behind the seat connector through the trunk to the solenoid.
