Hey everyone,
I just joined yesterday and I'm pretty excited I found the place. I have been collecting links for Olds stuff ever since I got the car a year ago. I had a triple black 76 that I wrecked in High School. It has 76k orig miles but some rust too(bumper and passenger door). It took 13 years to get another. I dreamed of driving this model car again and it is just amazing to have one. I haven't done a whole lot to her yet. Front / rear tranny seals and all new steering linkage. As for leaks :( I have a few. Tranny, Rear diff, light oil weapage more than leak, and a coolant leak. She sat for 17 years. Body is great though. It had the Ziebart under coating from the factory and a second one done about 85-86 before the car overheated on the second owner (which was a family member of the first) and then parked it.

Here are the stats:
My vin decoded
Year: 1977
Division: Oldsmobile
Series: Cutlass Supreme
Body: Coupe
Engine: 350 (5.7) V8 4BBL
Plant: Lansing, Michigan
Console Shift
2.41 rear end
TH350 Tranny

It is triple black with 67k miles on her now. She had the 15x6 steel wheels with the wire baskets on when I bought her but I took the baskets off for that old school look. I have a few plans but haven't figured out how to get to there so I will probably post for help as I go. I know the rear wheel wells can soak up a 10inch wide tire with no issues so I want to do that and 8's in the front. Going 16's or 17's is one of the things I'm tossing a coin on though.

I want to build up to 500hp on pump gas. This will mean a new tranny but the th350 has a leak anyway so no big deal. I'm thinking 3.73 gear set and disc brakes all around. Cooling will need upgraded as well. With that gear set I would like get a 4 speed tranny.

Well just wanted to say hey and give some background on my ride. I will post again when I have pics up somewhere like on Car Domain.

Welcome to the site 77RKT, give us a name, makes it more personal. :) The car looks great, black has always been my favorite color on a car. Yeah they show the dust but they dont stain like the whites and creams! Good to have another Jayhawker on board. I am only 20 mi from KCK! Do you hit the speedway?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome. My name is Doug.

Not much of a JayHawk. I have lived in Mo for the last 7 years and just moved to KS...LOL.

I went to good guys this year at the speedway. The autocross action was sweet. A reproduction Shelby cobra was holding the best time.

Tony you are too right about the dust. I put the car cover on it whenever I'm not too lazy after a good drive.
