Damn Steve!! That's the house I grew up in from age 4 to 21 (before I came to see what the west was like). I still consider Chateauguay home. Man, we use to have more trees. BTW, car looks good. Thanks for posting that picture.

Here's what it looked like in 1979 when I drove the 2200 miles to show my dad the 442.

See the big Red Maple in the front yard, the picture below is me with that tree in 1963 and the picture below that is me in 1970 with what would become my first car in 1974 (1968 Pontiac Grande Parisienne - or as the Americans would know it Bonneville)

Ken - About that pic of you in 1963... you haven't changed a bit! :D :D :D
The picture of your 442 in the driveway in 1979, is that another Olds parked in front of your 442? The RH taillight looks like a `75 Cutlass S or 442 or a `77 Cutlass 4 dr. (they both used the same light). Just curious if I have a sharp eye or if I'm all wet. :p

Hi Gary, That was my dad's car, a 1975 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham (American version - Catalina). You were bang on on the year!

Ken, I posted that photo for you. I will take some more today for you. Your pics are even more amazing! I love old photos. Your parents must of had those trees removed cause since I've lived on the street (10 years) there have never been any big maples in the front. I do remember the Canadian flag pole in front where one of the trees are in your photos.

Sharp car. Ken, do I have this right, 77 Cutlass Supreme lives in/near the exact house you grew up in and you've just met off this site? If so, that is quite a coincidence..........small world.

Its even funnier than that, we met by chance in 1997 at the Olds 100th anniversary party in Lansing and yes i live across the street from the house where he grew up. I'll let him tell the story.........

The couple that bought the house from your mother a few years back got divorced last year and he moved to Victoria, B.C. and she stayed in the house.

Thanks for posting those pictures. I have a lot of great memories in that house. We moved in (as the first owners) on Hallowe'en 1961. I moved out Aug 28, 1978. After my dad died my mom sold the house in 2001, so we owned it for 40 years.
Here's my dad coming down off the flag pole after the flag got stuck (1967). The flag pole was near the Red Maple, so it had to be moved later. He could have cut the cord but he was afraid the flag would touch the ground and he said that the flag should never touch the ground. He was so proud to have become Canadian.

Here I am (in nets) with Steve Brisebois as my defence against Rob Turfus (1969-70) Do the Brisebois' still live next door to you at 251?

Here is the 442 at home in 1987 during a visit to show off my girlfriend...now wife.

Here is your house Steve seen from ours (Mrs. Turfus in the forground). New flag pole location behind her.

My mother got rid of the trees because some of them were going after the water mains and she was afraid that the city would charge her with the repair if they had to dig up the street.
BTW - didn't mean to hijack your thread. Just was really nice to see the old place. I still miss it and miss living there. Montreal (and area) was/is awesome!

Awesome pics. If you have any more of the street/neighbourhood please post them. The pic of my house in the back ground was taken between 1997-2001 cause that's my S10 pickup in the driveway. Don't you love the colours people painted their garage back then, yellow, green, brown etc....Your mom was smart to remove the trees since those maples can cause problems with foundations and water mains when they are planted too close to the house. It happened to mrs Brisebois last year. She still lives there. Mr Brisebois died 3-4 years ago. Mrs Turfus is still there and so are the Shakespy's and Claire (forget her family name but you must know her).
More pics please!
