Ok who is running this on there vehicle with a edelbrock 3711 intake. I bought a New Holley rebuild carb at the beginning of summer and at the time I loved it but now I hate the dam thing. I'm trying to find a better carb for my ride and possibly intake too. Any or all input will be appreciated.

I have a 1406 carb on a performer manifold with a 2"spacer(to clear the egr).

I have never been completly impressed with the performance (I blame my lack of knowledge of oldsmobile motors, carb sizing, and the camshaft selection more than the carb).

I felt it had the most power with the Q-jet. I had tried to rebuild the Q-jet and install it on the performer manifold. Didn't work out well.

Reliability wise it has been fantastic. Floor it, no hesitation when the secondaries opened. Had it since 1993, never touched it after it was installed (other than the idle mixture screws and choke adjustment).

I believe the Performer intake manifold is basically a stock intake manifold.

No other mods of any kid she is bone stock. I basically am just looking to get a good carb set up and I have been looking at the intake and carb set up offered by edelbrock.

If it's bone stock then stick with the stock intake and find a correct Q-Jet. You will not notice any improvements by just changing the intake and carb. Especially to a Performer and the Edelbrock carb. The slight weight diference will not make up the cost difference.

Thanks for the info I think I will stay with stock then. Now to find a properly rebuilt carb. The one holley did stinks like gas and it doesn't leak. Or am I blaming that on the wrong thing? The wife always complains about the smell. I have changed out all the hoses and she is bone dry but stnks.
