Another quadra jet question.

Does anyone have a picture of the quadrajet installed on a 455, minus air cleaner to see what the spring holder looks like to hold the throttle valve back at idle and return when foot feed is let up on.

Also a picture on how the cable links up to the carburetor.

Anyone have one of those vacuume canisters for the cruise control that holds the butter fly via a little chain they want to sell?

took these during my recent tear down of my '73 S 455 w/ qj. They may help. No cruise so I cant help there. The second shows the linkage but it's the worst quality pic. sorry.

Here's a page from the assembly manual also.

Speaking of quadrajets, can anyone recommend a shop that will restore a carb functionally and appearance wise to show condition?

I had a guy at the local Arnold's Motor supply do mine. Was told by several he is great at rebuilding them. Have yet to start it, but was cleaned up great... True test to come!

Thank you for the pics zodiac blue! Came in handy, found a new throttle springs and bracket on ebay that will work great!

Thanks for the diagram as well, would you by chance have something that would indicate the vacume lines? I have the vac line off the heater rear heater valve going up to a T that has one end going to the carb, the other capped. The transmission vac line to the rear front intake brass fitting... Still have a few things left to plumb off carb and another intake point...

my 76 olds manual only has smoggers and the maze of vacuume lines...

Her is a few pics of my 76 455. Not too many vac lines for the carb. Had my carb restored at Chicago Corvette Supply. Cost me 350 with shipping all replated and rebuilt. I dont know how I got their number to do the carb. But I think someone else gave me their number. Very satisfied with the carb

Five years ago, I had Sparky's do my carb. I have had to do absolutely nothing to it, except subtle idle adjustment once or twice and some cleaning with carb spray once a year and every other year do the fuel filter.

It came out flawless.

Hey 76 OldsWarrior! Thanks for the pics, that is a clean engine bay! Will try to post some of mine up.

Have a question, there seems to be an electronic idle control on your carburetor, on the front of the carbureator on the throttle linkage side. Is this required? I do not have one, nor a wire off my harness that would go to it, that i have found, sure it might have been when the car had the olds 350 in it.

Any info on what it does, if it is required.... Just bought a kit that bolts on in front same side, that has springs to act as a return to idle on the throttle valve, two springs and a bolt on attachment to mount spring to then to throttle valve linkage...

That is for cars with air conditioning. That is to adjust the idle when the ac is put on. That rod pops out a little and rests on the linkage. The rod can adjust in and it out depending on the idle speed you want with the ac on.
