th 350 shift kit question

I am in the process of installing another B & M shift kit in a th 350. The instructions say to remove the accumulator spring for the heavy duty version but not the street/strip version. It doesn't sound right to me. I remember taking that spring out in my last tranny and it shifted way too hard. I thought I did the street/strip version last time but maybe not. I thought removing that spring was what gave me that hard neck snapping annoying shift. What does the accumulator do anyway? Anybody done one lately? I guess I could leave it in and drive it and take it out later if it seems to shift too soft. TIA.

You dont need a shift kit if you just take out that spring. Old tranny guy secret.

The bad thing is it will cut your tranny life in half.

So its kinda your choice.
