Wow!!! This is BIG news!!! One of my Olds contacts sent me an email which I copied below. Don't know much about this but I asked him for more info. I don't know where the auction will be held, but his subject line referenced Branson. Maybe Branson, MO??? I'll pass along more information if/when I get it!

Hey everybody. I hope this finds you all well. You may all know this but just in case I thought I would pass it on. There is a myth here in Colorado that in Burlington an old woman named Hazel Hudson had a collection of Hurst Oldsmobile's. The only missing car was the 68. Well it was NO myth. She has passed away. The 7 Hurst Olds cars will be going on the auction block Oct 19 and 20. They are going with no reserve. Out of the 7 cars the most mileage is 17,000. The 69 Hurst has 9,000 miles. The catalog is out and they are all pictured in it. So please pass the word. It would be great to see these cars at future Olds events. Good luck!

Is there anyone that is going to bid on these cars? Any chance a low ball offer being successful? I have never hear of the auction site but those cars are very sweet indeed!!!

That '74 sure looks a lot like a '75  Anyone remember seeing a hood painted like that on an H/O?

You know your Oldsmobiles Rocketman....that's exactly what I said to myself (not that I talk to myself often)...that '74 is really a '75 :) That's one of the reasons I was wondering if anyone had dealt with this site before.

Thanks for the auction site link! I'd love to have that `73! It didn't list a/c as one of the options. Might just be a W46 car!!!
That `69 and `72 are super sweet too! Heck, they all are!
For those curious as to where Burlington, Colorado is, it is a small town of around 3,000 people in extreme eastern Colorado just off of I-70. It's about 10 or 15 miles from the CO/KS state line.
I'm glad she kept those cars safe. That's getting out in tornado country!

I suppose if she doesn't, I could always pick up an American wife :D They may be more understanding about cars than Canadian girls. Besides, I've always loved women with southern accents every since my trip to West Virginia. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/vttedrm/Smilies/drool5.gif

Thank for the info Eric! Looks like the H/O's did pretty good. Are you going to the H/OCA Nationals next year? We are planning a great event for next year!

I would have thought the '69 would go for the most $$$- what am I missing about the 72?

The 1972 Hurst Olds auctioned in that collection. Needed the most work. One has to wonder why some people do the things they do. The collector obviously bought it second or third hand.
A friend of mine went to the auction. And didn't even want to bid on the 72 after seeing it.
Who ever bought it is upside down at this point. I hope for their sake the market moves higher. But I don't think they will ever brake even with that car.
The 1975 in that auction was pretty well worked over also.

Sounds like fun, but I do not plan on attending next year. I made it to Joliet in 06 because it was close to home and I could drive the HO.
