Just to follow up, I did find a manifold and carb on ebay a few months back so I'm not looking anymore! :D

Well don't get your hopes up yet, the carb you have isn't the correct one.
You have a 455 replacement carb 7044558 and not the high performance application 7044559.
So technically you are still looking just incase anyone can still help :)

Just found a pair of 74 H/O W30 grilles on ebay complete with emblem. Everything looks to be in nice shape. Currently $24 with no bids and no reserve. In another life I would have bought these just 'cause they're cool! Anyway, here's the link -

These are incredibly difficult to find, I'm sure. Not my auction, just passing along the info.

Sorry I let the cat out of the bag for you... :o
Can you use a pair of `74 H/O taillight assemblies, complete w/ housings, bezels, and lenses? Beautiful condition... and they're cheap!
I'm tired of tripping over them :p

Thanks for the lead Gary, I found an emblem for my brother a few months ago so I hope they help someone else out. Slowly piecing back together this rare bird...

Dang Gary- you're the second Colorado guy in 2 days who's offered me nice western taillights... I have a set of NOS lenses and bezels already on the car, but if money's right, I might be interested in spares. PM me.

Are you building a clone?

Not hardly. This dog has papers, all the way back to the car order. The original grilles are not in great shape, and the two other sets I have are only marginally better. Plastic tends to fade and warp after 34 years...

Good to hear. Do you have any pictures of your car?

The dinosaur act has not mastered transferring digital pics, and is also on 56k dialup which makes uploads tedious. Someday, we might get DSL out here in the sticks! We all thought we'd get it with VIR opening back up, but they went with Hughesnet satellite internet.
Clones are an area I'd as soon stay out of. Most are built with deception and jacking up the selling price in mind, and in case of our cars can be hard to prove by VIN. I'm always very wary of any undocumented car.
As cheap and dirty as the Hurst conversions were, it wouldn't take much to make one though.
After the paint work was done, I managed to get all the outside trim back on pretty quick. Then I started working 60+ hour weeks, and I simply do not feel like messing with it when I get off work.
While I'm thinking about it- anyone have a good source for the mastic rubber seal between front bumper and core support? Pretty big chunk of rubber. Mine is in shreds.

You can give this guy a try. I've spoke with him on the phone before and he's all about reproducing hard to find odd parts for 73-77.

I ended up getting a complete cranberry interor from him for my 75 442. He parted out a 75 442 exactly like mine except his had a 455. I was a bit upset because I would have bought the car for restoration insted.
