If so who and at what cost.

Just got a hagerty quote for $300 for $15,000 worth of coverage for a year.

Sounds good to me just checking.

I have classic insurance for my 71 Cutlass at an agreed value of 15,000 and it is $135 a year. Towing is included and found out that it covers 200 miles of the tow.

Not bad.

Mine is with American Modern Insurance Group.

Well the 76 Cutlass is not quite ready to be back on the road yet but the 876 Buick Century Custom Wagon is costing me $59.00 at $5000.00 for the year.

As a rule of thumb collector car insurance should cost $10 / $1000 value of the car / year. If you are being charged more than that shop around.

The above applies only to the 1st vehicle...you'll get a multi vehicle discount with each additional auto insured.

Hagerty - all 3 cars insured with them and can not beat the price. Got road assistance and towing included.

I thought $300 was a deal but looks like hagerty has some name recognition and is like double the price of the other few mentioned.

I think I will check around. Thanks for all your inputs.

Hoping to have the 442 finally running this weekend. Getting the exhaust donE and a few minor things. Been eating sleeping dreaming and breathing olds the past couple weeks busting tail.

$350 for $20k in coverage on the Olds. Agreed value. Licensed appraiser did a full work up on the car. Hagerty.
Sad part is, I'd be more pissed if I lost that car than get money for it. I'd rather have that car around in a rusted hulk than have it gone.

I looked at JC Taylor and Hagerty and they were both high. Now I do know that if your car ever has an accident they look for NOS parts to repair your car. Last year in Hearshey PA I met a guy that works for Hagerty and he is a parts finder and looks all over the country for all NOS parts for thier client repairs.

I don't know if my insurance company will do that or just buy repops but my insurance costs are 3x less than the 2 big guys. Maybe if I had a Hemi Cuda or a Hurst Olds I would consider putting up more money for insurance but for my 71 Cutlass Supreme and my 77 442 I will go with the company I have. Had great luck with them for road side assistance.

I've got JC Taylor. Good rates and excellent coverage. You can insure the car for "stated value" up to $29,900 without an appraisal. For coverage $30,000 and over an appraisal for the value of the car is needed. My brother, dad, and I have all had to put in claims for damage to collector cars over the years unfortunately. JC Taylor has always handled the claims top notch. JC Taylor does NOT cover mechanical breakdowns however. I found that out a few years ago when my brand new (had 900 miles on it) Mallory Ignition coil decided to go out half way to Grand Junction. That was a long tow back to Denver and cost me over $300 for the tow bill. Not a big fan of Mallory Ignition products anymore.

I had 400 dollars worth on the car I sold with zero deductible and towing with everything...
Now I have the other 2 and I have one at 10,000 and the other at 25,000 with the same coverage for $350 a year at Hagerty.

I have Intact Ins based on a 2009 appraisal of $24,500 I pay $145 CAD/yr and that includes roadside assistance and up to $7000 in spare part loss. I'm limited to 5,000 miles a year unless I call them and telling them that I'm going on a cruise, or nationals etc. Can't drive the car to work (unless it's going to get some maintenance done) or as a main driver. They didn't ask if I owned another car.

I've paid $170 a year since '02 for the '77 442 and the '76 Supreme through JC Taylor, with an agreed value of 5k each. I've never had a claim, but a couple people I know did and had a good experience.

Actually, the cost is $120 but MI has some stupid fee that costs me $50 extrta. They used to make you park your car during winter months [no road coverage] but now you can drive them year round.
