Texxas8902's post in another thread about the movie Super 8 and the setting in 1980, with hardly any 73-77 GM colonnade cars to be seen got me thinking. They were so popular back then they had to be a common sight.

What are some of the most common vehicles in your area today? In the Denver area it it's very common to see Chev., GMC, Ford and Dodge full size pickups. Another very common car here because they're AWD is Subaru Outback wagons. For everyday sedans, there's alot of Buick Century's, and Honda Accord's and even a fair amount of Hyundai's on the road. Lastly, even though the cars are anywhere from 6 to 10 years old now, I still see a bunch Of Oldsmobile Alero's on the road. That's cool! I've never owned one but I hear they are really good cars and pretty quick too!

I drove one new about 8 yrs ago, on a highway trip and through mountain roads, those things boot and handle. Very unexpected comming from that car.
We used to rent a boat load of those back in the day.

In Alberta it's trucks. Ford, Chev, GMC and Dodge in that order with Toyota and Honda starting to show up. I must be the only guy in the province who's never owned a truck. If I need one, I borrow one from work.

Lately, I am seeing a ton of Hyundai Sonatas and Kia Optimas. Oh, and Chevy Impalas.
