Here are a few pics of the `73-`75 style VFN Fiberglass pin on ram air hood. It's just sitting on the car now. Still working on figuring out mounting locations. Looks pretty mean on the race car I think! Once we get the hood mounted, my brother will paint it gloss black. It will be ready to go for next race season!

Some additional info in case anyone wants to get one of these hoods - the pin on hoods DO NOT have a built in air box on the underside of the hood. The bolt on hoods do.

Thanks! The blue `70 Supreme conv. is my brother's show car. These pics were taken at his house. The conv. is on the lift waiting for the installation of a new gas tank.

Yep! The four post lift comes in handy! It's made by Eagle and really wasn't that expensive. When they first came out I think they were over $5,000. Now they're around half that. The pics were taken at my brother's house. We bought the house together and built the detached garage, and installed the lift. A couple years ago I moved out and bought a bigger house. I still get to use the lift though! :D

If you are considering getting a four post lift, the first thing to check is ceiling height. The ceiling in the detached garage is 10'-4" which is adequate to get the car up in the air and be able to work underneath it on a mechanic's stool. I'd say anything close to 9'-6" or less would be tight to work under. Another benefit if you so choose is you can park a car on the lift, kick it up in the air, and park another one underneath it. Two cars in one space! What a deal!

Nice car!

You have a four post lift at home?

Good now I have pictures to campaign on getting the same for myself. :D

I am looking at VFN for a 1973 hood because I have a feeling that my hood clearance has been comprimized with my new intake. I really like the Ram Air hood but it is only come with factory clearance and they don't make a 73 with a cowl hood. Now what they will do is customize a 4" cowl on a stock 73 glass pin on hood, the only problem is that it will cost $300 bucks more for a cost of $650 bucks. Does anyone have another alturnative to this?
