Welcome aboard neighbor!

You just missed one on ebay! I have not seen too many light blue cutlasses "floatin'" around this area (DFW) and don't see them too often on the net, especially on a 442.

If I see one I'll let you know. Are you wanting to find one locally or out of the area?

thanks all i'll keep looking.
Macrover - the one on ebay was a 77 and a little more of a medium blue. i'm looking for the Poly blue and in a '76 cutlass supreme brougham. it can be in this area or anywhere.
Allen442 the two on craigslist are not quite what i have in mind - would like something restored or original.
1badolz - i went to yakaz and it sounds like only one of them listed tehre might be close to what i'm looking for but not sure it's for sale.
thanks all if you come across anything let me know.

Hmm, the car I'm referencing on ebay was a 77 supreme (see photos below) and based on the trim code tag, it was/is light blue poly (code/option 22) which is what my car was originally.

Now that I've read your post again, you're looking for a 76. I saw light blue and looked over the rest of the post. :)

Here's a sample of the 77 light blue poly in the sunlight and in the shade. I know in 76, the color had a 28 code...just not sure "how light blue" it is on the cars, besides what's on the paint chip chart.

i think that blue color is the same. mine had the dark blue vinyl top -not the white and it was a a solid blue not the two tone. thanks.

Actually the 76 light blue poly was slightly darker than 77 color but still a light blue for what it's worth. :)

Sounds like you had/want a nice color combo. Keep us posted on your search.

Nice find Leo! Looks like the car he is decribing to a T. Even the miles are very low!

The engine? Oh yea, here's what it's got:
-Holley 600cfm
-Edelbrock Intake
-Vortec Heads
-RV Cam
-Long tube headers, 3" center dumps with Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers
-Geared timing
-TH350 Transmission with shift kit (soon to be a built 700r4)
-3.73 limited slip rear end (soon to be posi)

I don't know what the standard options were for each trim level of the 77 Cutlass, but I think mine is pretty loaded for a 77.
-Power Windows
-Power Locks
-Windshield radio antenna
-Cruise Control (removed)
-A/C (removed)
-DIGITAL passenger dash board clock (still can't figure that one out, haha)
-Rear defrost

As it sits, the defrost doesn't work, obviously the cruise and A/C went away with the engine swap, the aftermarket AM/FM Cassette is very weak (gonna get one of those retro styled MP3 head units and some nice stock fit speakers soon - nothing too crazy, just want to be able to listen to music once in a while), but everything else works. Except for the passenger door window switch. Master switch still controls it, though.

Here's how she looks.

The pics make the car look better than it does. I mean, it's in great shape, but the prep job done by the previous owner for the paint was done poorly. Some over sanded spots, some cracks in the paint on the roof, and some rust bubbles at the bottoms of the rear wheel wells. Other than that, the car is absolutely solid, no SERIOUS rust. Bumpers are on nice and solid, floor pan is great (save for one quarter sized hole under where your left foot rests), everything is in pretty good shape for a 32 year old Michigan car. I'm happy with it, it's a great start for me.

My plans are pretty much to keep it looking stock. I love the wheels, love the color, love the stance.. but i do intend on upping the HP a bit. Most importantly I want it to be drive-able. As is, I can drive this car anywhere. She fires up easily (even in the cold, but doesn't get driven in the rain or snow - no worries), rides smooth, handles.. like an old American car handles, stop great, and those seats are SO comfy.

So, that's my ride. Hope you like it!

Oh yea, by the way... icing on the cake. Here's how she sounds apart from the starter, which I've replaced with a gear-reduction starter - much quieter and smoother starting.

Does it have to be a 76 Brougham how about a low mileage 77 supreme.

Welcome to the forum. One similar to your original sold in this area about a year ago. It belonged to an elderly gentlemen who passed on. His grand son inherited the car and wasn't interested in keeping it. Will keep an eye out for you.

There is a mint 77 Cutlass Salon for sale at Volo Auto Museum for $12,000. It's a steal!!!!!!!!!! I would buy it but I'm putting my extra cash into my own restoration. The car that was showcased in the movie Cutlass was bought from them. It seems that they only handle quality cars. GOOD LUCK!!!
