I just tried to buy five 235/70/15 Radial TA tires and found out there is a national back order. Does any one know who might have five in stock somewhere?

I just bought 4 245/60/14 from tire rack, did you try them?

Yes I did check out the Tire Rack and they also said there is a national back order. I'm running 15" tires and nobody has them. I've been looking for three days now. Thanks for your help.

245/60/15's fit good and fill the wheel wells nicely. I think the overall height would be the same, just a little wider.

Skip the BFGs & buy the better Firestone Indy 500s or the Mickey Thompson radials.

I'll second the recommendation for the Indy Firestones. A set of those will be my next tire purchase.
As for the BFGs, I can tell you that they suck in the snow!
Check out the reviews on Tirerack, the Indy Firestones get consistently better reviews, and are usually a few dollars less as well.

I will chiime in, had a set of Indy's 500 on my car since Dec '06. Put about 2800 miles on the car since they were put on. They handle better than the T/A, they ride smoother.
If you want to break traction with a stock 350, Firestone's are not the choice, but if you want it to handle, they are for a stock style replacement tire. A lot of guys on this forum have switched over to the Firestone INdy 500's.

I've always heard bad things about the Indy 500's, such as tread seperations and blowouts. I've never owned a set personally to say for sure. But I CAN say the the BFG's DEFINATELY DO SUCK in the snow. I don't think I'll ever buy another set.

I just ordered a set from Tire Rack. They had at least 5 in Delaware. Hope you found yours by now.

I know for a fact the Pontiac Michigan Bell Tire has 4 235/70/15 as I ordered them mistakingly and had to get 14's (My 71 Vista has 14" and I thought it was the same as my 76 Cutlass) DOH!!!!

This was 2 weeks ago. They did not imply there was trouble getting them.

Good luck.

I'm putting on my TA'today. 235/70/15's.
I bought them in Jan, because they told me I may not have them to buy in Apr or May.
If they don't fit right or if I don't like the looks, I can send them back. 4 of them.
Tirecraft in Ontario.
I'm not worried about the snow as the car is only for sunny warm days. :)
I can't wait to see how they look and drive. A belt shifted on the right front tire last weekend on my old tires. It was a slow ride (40 mph) 30 mins back paved roads into work today.

I decided to go a different route and bought 4 MICKEY THOMPSON SPORTSMAN S/T. 225 70 15

Nice tire and reviews for hooking up were through the roof. Even from guys who drive cobra's.

I will never drive my car in the winter and I hope not in the rain but thunderstorms pop up.

The M/T is a softer rubber and is great for cornering and hooking up as the Cutlass is famous for corner roll I think this softer tire will help greatly.

The downside is these will probobly not be 80,000 mile tires because they are softer then alot of other tires but if I only drive 3000 miles a year chances are they will last me many years.

$440 shipped through McCormack Racing, I see the price has gone up but go to their website direct for free shipping or check ebay. When I bought a couple months ago I went direct through their website and it was cheaper then ebay and had em within the week.

Im willing to sacrafice some tire life for some real good grip. Im hoping this will cut down on 2nd gear scratch too.

Well I had to drive mine in the winter. It was my daily driver.

Mine were 245/60's. I wish I had bought 235/70's instead. I miss the ole Cat. Wish I never sold it but you know how that goes when you need the $$$$$.:(

Don't forget to post some pics guys.

In case anyone cares, the correct factory size (for the 15" crowd) is 225/70/15 (GR70x15)

Watch for a major price increase on tires due to the price of gasoline. Heard it from our local distributor the other day.
