Just to get it out there, a few of us are planning on attending the '07 Woodward Dream Cruise this August 17th. I've really wanted to go the last few years (for whatever reason, Woodward means a lot to me) and I think, I hope, this is the year. It'd be great to get a few of us together (a great photo op) and be a good start for future get-togethers (like next year's OCA Nationals... also in Detroit.) Anyway, I've included a link, keep it in the back of your mind...

My Old man had a service station on Woodward and 18 mile from '66-'86, pretty much grew up in that place. I have a lot of fond memories of Woodward and have never missed a cruise. We reserve spots in downtown Pontiac every year, it's $25 for the weekend, you get a goody bag and what not. If you've never been, you definatly need to go.

Give Todd and myself a heads up if coming thru town for it. We could all meet up, Also if you can come in early like tuesday it is way more fun and easier to drive days before, day of it is best to just park your car.

We should make a list of who is going, I may have a spot in Pontiac we can park at for nothing/or maybe $5. I'll have to talk to my friend and find out for sure.

Will they show the event on local TV stations? With my cable tv I get WDIV, WUHF, WWJ, WXYZ. I know one of there is a Rochester, NY channel, but I cant remember which (WUHF I think). The point is, if it's televised on local Detroit channels, I may be able to watch. 1800 miles one way will leave me with a hefty gas bill. Suppose I could continue on up to Montreal but, hey I could fly there for free,

normally wxyz (ch 7) but they focus on the 13 mile mark, Todd will be about 8 miles up the road. Go figure 13 miles (starts at 8 and goes to 21mile) of cars 4 lanes wide on each side of the road.

Great! WXYZ (channel 84 for me). I'll have to keep an eye open for that. Thanks :)

Ken, like Dave said, they usually broadcast live on Channel 7 [WXYZ]. I think the biggest crowd is in Royal Oak [13 mile] but they were in downtown Pontiac filming live last year in the main lot we were parked at. Pontiac is pretty cool, they let you get away with a little more then the other areas, i.e. major burnouts etc..
