Looking for ideas on the best way to install a kill a switch on a 75 cutlass HEI ignition of course. 350 with console,
Any ideas??
I have heard to cut the batt wire to the dist and run it through a switch of some kind under the dash.
What type of switch would be good, plus use wire shrinks for the splices in the engine compartment.
I'm getting ready for for the spring..... can't wait.

I wouldn't cut any wires in the engine compartment. Find the pink ignition wire from the ignition switch [mounted on the steering column], splice in a toggle switch and hide it where ever you like.

Anyplace where it would be tough to guess its location, but don't mention where on the interwebs if you get my drift.
I found one in a 68 beetle tucked so far up the dash it would have taken a automotive genius to find it. I guess I just got lucky that day. The Owner had died, and the new buyer couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run. We towed it home, and I chase wires for an hour before the "ah ha!" moment. I drank for free that night.
Use your best wiring for this chore. Solder and shrink tube are your friends. Keep it inside and out of the weather. And its a plus if no one notices you activate it when you start the car. I've seen them rigged as 'nitrous' switches in plain sight, and have seen them on the floor where the drivers left hand can be subtle about activating them. Sometimes the glove box, or on the dash in plain sight marked 'washer fluid' .
Be creative, and don't share your secret.

I've also seen replacement key switches used, so even if you find it you can't just flip it. Small engine shops typically have these for sale cheap for riding lawn mowers and the such.

good ideas.... Is there a specific toggle switch you should use.... I bought a 12 V 20 amp one today... they are designed desined to be mounted through a drilled hole though... probably get away with a lighted one, 12V 10Amp smaller toggle.
