OK everyone, I have a '77 S with a 3 on the tree and 231 V6. I was curious- what does a 442 have over my car in addition to the following?

-Rally gauges
-442 decal on the trunk lid
-2 tone paint job with 442 decals
-V8
-bucket seats and a console with floor shift
-sloping aero grille

The paint and decals were part of the W-29 "Appearance and Handling Package". So was the sloped header panel. The rally guages were an option, and had to be ordered to come on the car. The V8 was not mandatory in the 442 either. Although the 350 was the most popular engine for 77, you could have ordered the 442 with the 231 V6, 260 V8, and the new for 77 403 V8. Bucket seats and console were also an option. My 73 442 has a bench with 3 speed column shift. Hope this helps.

Upgraded FE-2 suspension was standard on the 442. It would have to be special ordered on a Cutlass S.
