It looks like I'm SOL for $101 I paid for bumper fillers from ebay. I tried resolving stuff between the two of us, and the 45 day ebay limit expired. This sucks. I shipped them back, so I'm out the money, the parts, and my return shipping.
UPDATE 3-17-2001 Today I received a full refund from AutobodyfillersUSA. Better late than never, but I sure do appreciate the support of all those here.

Which bumper fillers?
Did you buy from an Ebay store, or private seller?
I only use Ebay as a lat resort.

eBay should be able to resolve it. Did you use PayPal? If so it is guaranteed.

Ebay says its too late, too bad.
Paypal says its too late, too bad.
If the seller doesn't do the right thing It seems I have no recourse.

I've bought from them, I believe they're reputable. I'm sure they will refund your money. Hammer them with e mails until you get a reply, get the phone number and call. Good luck.

Still no response, and no refund. I'm filing a formal complaint against autobodyfillersUSA with the dept of consumer protection this week, and I'm done with ebay.
ETA: Formal Complaint Filed with Wis Dept of Consumer Protection. Still no help from ebay or paypal.

Did you use a credit card to pay thru paypal if so you can go thru the credit card company and get them to help you get your money back. I had the same problem and the only way I could get my money back was thru the credit card company.

Sorry to hear this. Ebay and paypal are useless. They are only out to make money and could care less about you. It's most likely too late to leave feedback.
If you are not worried about using ebay anymore I guess you could mess with the seller. Try winning as many of his auctions as possible and then leave negative feedback explaining how they screwed you. I've seen it done before. Obviously you wouldn't pay and since they cannot leave neg feedback for you I don't see how you have anything to lose. You might get banned eventually but hey just start up a new name like some others do.
Where are the sellers located ? Can you post an address ? Maybe someone close by them could stop in on them ?

Your home address will be marked if you do this. I had someone living at my house that ran into trouble with ebay and they had my 100% positive feedback account marked and froze. It was a PIA to get it fixed.

I suppose, but your library card is tied to your home address. At least that's how my library works. If your bold enough to falsify an identity (fraud), go for it. Just know that you can be tracked, traced etc. Your IP address is tied to your name, not to mention each network address card has a unique address on it which is tied to your computer or IP. Each 2K packet of information a computer sends out has all this information. Not to say ebay will run you down, but it can be done if you are continually hosing someone. I work in computer security for a living.

I live in a resort ocean side town with probably 1000 different foreigners a week in the summer using the internet for free. I do understand exactly what you mean about the IP on each connection.

The same happened to me on ebay I bought a set of wheel opening moldings. The description was 76 77 Cutlass wheel openings not including mounting hardware. I emailed the seller and they told me that they were real. It turns out they didn't even fit. Ebay said the description was correct they sided with the seller because it said not including mounting hardware. So I'm out $100.00 Thanks Ebay

I'm taking the high road on this one, I've filed a formal complaint with the state of Wisconsin. I'm also going to file Federal Mail Fraud Charges with the USPS.
Here is an ebay item number for their current auction. 200586020924
Why don't each of you ask them a question regarding this item regarding why they refuse to refund my money for items I've returned to them? Be polite, be civil, but insist that you will let it be known among car circles that they scammed a friend, and no one should do business with them.
Thanks!

I sent them a civil message, hopefully the catch on that there is a place that many '76-'77 owners congregate and they cooperate with you. It says they accept returns within 7 days, but I'd think some people in this world would let this slide especially when you are dealing online. It sometimes takes 3 weeks to ship. That happened to me with a part I sold.

I finally was able to send ebay an email regarding this. I mentioned my Formal Complaint to WI, and that I'm taking the matter to Postal Inspectors later this week. Here is their chance to be part of the solution.

What was the problem here? Are we just to take your word that they ripped you off? What did you buy? What was wrong with it? Why did you take so long to try to get a refund and not follow up before time ran out?
I'm not defending them because I bought from them, just want to know what happened. I got rear quarter fillers, quarter protectors and a center rear filler from them for a 76 442. I put the rear quarter fills on right away and they fit and function perfectly much better than the fiberglass repros and you can actually use the original metal backer pieces unlike the fiberglass fills. I haven't installed the center fill or the protectors but they appear to be very nice repros that will fit well when I get around to installing them. Anyway I hope it works out for you, I just wonder what happened and why you sent them back?

My shop tried to fit both front and rear fender fillers and couldn't. I was told to return them for a refund, and sent them back at my expense.
I have received no refund, and no further contact with the company. I'm out $100 AND the filler pieces. They delayed me long enough that "ebay's buyer protection" ran out.
$100 for the fillers would have been one thing. $100 for absolutely nothing is another.

Why couldn't your shop fit them? The rears I got fit very nice with no problems or mods needed. They fit as good as originals. I put them on myself with no special tools or techniques and did it in about a half hour. Could it be the shop you used is unskilled? Basically you are the middle man between your shop who couldn't install them and a seller/manufacturer who has sold many sets that fit with no problem. See where I'm coming from? The problem I see is you actually have no first hand experience(unless you just haven't posted this) about how these parts fit or don't fit and sent them back on the word of another person who may or may not know about the business end of a wrench. Please realize I'm not trying to mess with you but just playing devil's advocate here, see the other point of view. I don't think you can get any satisfaction at this point, unless they finally send your money back or send another set of fillers. With what you have posted so far I don't think the USPS is going to pursue fraud charges. The seller sent you the parts, they can't force you to keep them. You sent them back, possibly unauthorized. Did you get a return authorization number or an e mail saying to return them before you sent them back? Did your shop alter them or damage them attempting to install them? Please tell me more if I am missing something here but from what I see so far you look to be S.O.L. I have nothing to do with this but I sure wish it would have worked out like it was supposed to, I hate to see some one unhappy with what are, apparently, the same parts I got and like very much. Mine are great quality, were easy to install and have been on my car (unpainted ) over a year and look good. I would think at the very least they would work with you in the interest of customer goodwill for the future. I happy customer may tell a couple of people about their good experience but a disgruntled customer will tell the world.
I attached a picture of the rear quarter fills I installed and they fit perfect to the quarter panel and to a set of the bumper fillers I pulled from a junkyard car. They fit nice. The center rear filler I haven't installed is an exact match to a grizzled original that I had laying around. I don't see how it won't fit as good as the quarter fills. Seems to be quite a mess, good luck.

I informed them of the incorrect fit, and was told by ebay messenger that if I was unhappy with them to return them for a refund.
I was unhappy with them. I returned them in undamaged original condition. No refund, no explanation, no further communication.
The fit of the fillers I received was not even close, front or rear.
I ordered my fillers from them based on the good feedback on this site and I was rather disappointed with how they fit. I had to rework them quite a bit to get them to look OK. The only reason I kept them was because I had no other options at the time. Maybe their quality is slipping as I know they had a lot of happy buyers on this site. By the way, mine were for the rear if that matters. Sorry to hear about the bad experience.

I need a set of rear fillers and was planning on using these repos. I know the earlier ones offered by a different company were fiberglass and all I heard was negative about them. What was the fitment problems with these fillers? Can you use the factory metal reinforcement brackets? Maybe you guys having problems have aftermarket quarter skins and/or body work in that area? Either way I'll be ordering a set, since good used ones are hard to find.

They make front and rear vertical bumper fillers. There just like the original GM including the metal brackets for the rear. They also have other 76 77 Cutlass parts. When you call tell them Guy. ( The New Olds Guy ) recomended you.

I bought mine 10-30-07 and they fit and function great and allow the use of the metal reinforcements. I didn't realize it had been so long since I bought them. I remember I bought them within about 3 weeks of seeing them become available. Apparently the quality has changed for the worse. Fusick sells the 76-77 quarter fillers in their catalog and they have an excellent reputation and customer service, so if you are unsure about the autobodyfillersusa parts this may be a safer way to go. I wonder if Fusick makes their own or gets the fills from a manufacturer.

Nice job. You took the "high road" and it worked out for you. It always does in my opinion. I am sad to hear that the Auto Body Filler Co. is not what it used to be. I purchased one of the early sets they offered and they fit perfectly. Still have them on my car. I also purchased an extra set not too long ago, the ones like Texxas89 bought and they look just like the original ones from the factory. Hopefully the Fusick ones will work out better for you.

Fusick makes their own. Anytime that you see the Fusick logo next to a part in their catalog, it means that they manufacture it.

So how do people like a certain un-named indiviual with the initials KR, in Georgia, get away with it ? And there are others. One got banned from this very site. Not because of anything to do with that on here. But he is a slimeball none the less and still does it on ebay all the time.

I also bought a set 9 months ago. I will be installing them very soon after the restoration. I hope they fit???? If not I will be using my originals that are in great shape. I shot Sheryl an email a week ago telling her of the problem with one of our members. I also said If mine don't work I will be expecting a refund.

My car still needs fillers, but I'm so sick of the whole thing. When it goes into the body shop to have the old lady rash removed, I'm going to ask them what their opinion is. Prolly end up trying the Fusick fillers.

Well, if nothing else, you can buy the fillers from Fusicks. You will not have any problems with returning stuff to them if you are not happy. They are on top of the list of good venders to deal with.
