Hello everyone,
My name is Gary and I am new to the forum. I am the original owner of a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Well, actually my wife bought it in 1978, so I guess I married into it. The reason for the three year gap (75-78) is that my wife believes the car was used for student drivers for the first three years of its life (but she is not sure). The car came with the reliable (yet underpowered) 260c.i. engine, but several years ago I swapped it out for the 455c.i. engine along with a new transmission to handle the power. Fresh silver paint was applied in early 2003. Along with new paint came different doors as the original ones were getting pretty rusty on the bottom edge. This brings up a question I now have. With the original doors gone I no longer have that sticker that was on the inside of the drivers’ door. I am wondering how I can find out the build date of my Cutlass. I already know it is number 51,408 of 150,874 and I think it was built in late 1974 (possibly November). If anyone could shed some light or point me in the right direction of where I could find build date information it would be appreciated.
