Does anyone have a picture of the special trans bracket used to install a hurst dual shifter for a 350 transmission on a 73-77 olds? I am in the process of installing my hurst dual gate shifter in my 1977 442. I have heard both sides of the story that there is no special bracket and on this forum their is discussion that there is a special bracket. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,:o

I made my own out of a stock TH-350 set up. I used a 70-72 dual gate cable and bent and twisted the mount and selector to work. So far flawless performance from a 16 yr old tranny with hard hard use on it...... The pics might help but I doubt it. I will have my lift free on Saturday when I ship my 82 off to the paint shop. I will put the 73 up in the air and snap a few pics for you if you need them.

I was just informed by Brad442 that no spedial transbracket, for a 350 transmission, is needed for this application. You need dual gate shifter cable for the 73-77 years. Just make sure when you order one that it is 33" long from tip to tip. Thanks, Steve I just need to find the right dual gate cable. Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

Is the cable for a 455 dual gate shifter 33" as well? How long?

Thanks

You can email Ron's Classic Cutlass at classiccutlass@monti.net. He might be able to help you. I have done business with him a few times. He is very good to deal with.

While I am not familiar with a 74-75 T-350 D/G bracket, I do know for a fact that 73-75 T-400 D/G brackets are different and so is a 79 T-350 D/G bracket. But then again, thats a complete different shifter and cable. Noone make the correct 73-75 D/G cable. NOONE. Hurst used to make an adjustable cable for their aftermarket shifters. I've had a couple of those. But they don't make that specific cable any more nor do I have the part number.
