Well, we usually reserve spots downtown for the weekend, but we didn't this year. I'll probably be at the very top of Woodward "the loop". If your heading north stay to the far right and take the Oakland Ave. exit [Waterford] and the first left next to Satch's bar is where I'll be. It's an Academy owned by the city and I heard they are now charging to park, I think $8 but I'm not positive. For years we could just pull in and park for free, but they're getting greedy I guess.

I don`t do Woodward any more. It`s too much of a hassle to enjoy. Not to mention it`s way too comercialized. All about the $$$$$. It was great the first several years then it turned to crap. I was channel surfing watching channel 7`s so called coverage. Everything was about the cities, the people who lived there, contests like singing. Even some b.s. about a friggen golf tourniment. WTF does any of that $hit have to do with cruising ? VERY little coverage of the cars themselves.:( Ok, I`m steeping down off my soap box now.

I was there Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It really is incredible the amount of old cars there are to see but unfortunately I only saw 2 73-77 Cutlasses in three days.

I'd never miss the Woodward Cruise, I think it's awesome. It took 2 days to get the burnt rubber smell out of my head. Dave [sledhead] showed up in Pontiac, so there was three 76-77's at least. I wish they could boot out the daily drivers, at least for Saturday anyway.

We have several of these cruises around here. Woodward, Gratiot,Telegraph and Downriver. Somehow it turned into a free for all. Maybe I`m just an old crotchity bastard but I just don`t see how people on bicycles, skateboards, mopeds and scooters running down the sidewalks and hitting people, have anything to do with cruising. Don`t even get me started with boats on trailers, military vehicles and semi trucks, concerts and singing events, games and contests. Maybe I am just a crotchity old bastard.
