Hey guys, new to the site. Recently acquired a 1975 442. Do you guys have any production numbers on this car or any other general info? I'm having a hard time coming across anything about it.

In 1975 there were 6,227 442's produced.
212 were the F37 model while 6,015 were the G37 model

OK Larry, help me out here. The F37 cars were based on the Cutlass and the G37 based on the Cutlass S. I believe it was basically trim options that differentiated the two, as the body style was the same. The door panels on the G37 have the S emblem. Did you have an original door panel in the car when you got it, Larry? Was it lacking the S emblem? I see you have black Supreme panels now. Way to screw me all up! :D

lmao! too funny bert!
actually, my car had NO interior in it when i got it, save for the original sun visors...
from what i have heard and understand, the F37 was a base cutlass with basically no add-ons....even CARPET was an option for this as it came with those wonderful rubber mats...i assume that it was the cheapest way for someone to get a 442.....but as far as everything else goes, yeah they were the same body style, available engines, etc.
oh, and i have yet to see another F37 442 (1975 especially) since acquiring mine about 4 years ago......i would love to see an original one so that i could tell exactly what it looked like inside.....

Okay now I'm all confused about this. Petro's yellow 442 has the larger rear quarter windows like a Cutlass S, which is what I thought most 442s were based on. If it wasn't a 442 I would say it is an S. What gives here?

I believe both the G37 and the F37 were both Cutlass S bodys [big quarter windows] just the F37 was less optioned. Correct Larry?

CORRECT!:)
it took me a while to figure that out too...evidently the F37 base cutlass WAS the same body style as the 'S'
tex, you are right in that you said MOST 442's were based on the 'S'....the 'S' model was by far the most popular one for getting the 442 option package, but the book i saw says that they did offer it on the F37 body for 73-75.....the '75 production #'s of the F37 442 (212 out of 6,227) show that only 3% of 442's for '75 were on this body...

well, don't know about the a/c part of the question, but when i added my car to autozone.com's website, when it comes to selecting the engine for the 1975 cutlasses (all, not just 442's), it shows that only 9% of all 1975's had 455's. if you use that % times the 6227, you get approximately 560 1975 442's that had 455's. using that same % on the 212 F37 442's made in 1975, then only about 19 had the 455.....
i have not seen any concrete #'s that are as specific as what you're wondering about. mine though is a non-a/c car.

I've been trying to figure out how many 1975 442's came with a 455 and this is as close to an answer that I can find. Thanks Larry!
I think I may have found one with the full load package - air, pwr window, swivel buckets etc. Still trying to get hold of the owner.
The 74 442 I picked up this winter is getting stripped of it's parts so I might just have enough room for another car. I may have to get rid of the 75 Supreme (blue) and the 75 Cutlass S (swivels and vista roof) to finance another car.
