Looking for a ballpark price on a 1975 Hurst Olds W-30 (455 motor), white t-top car. Solid, no rust 73,000 mile Georgia car. Does not look like it needs much other than a buff and some detailing on the Hurst emblems. Very clean car. I've tried researching prices on the net and they seem to be all over the place. Sorry, no pics. Thanks!

Try NADA.com. It's free and painless.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had tried there already, along with a couple of other online price guides. What is puzzling is the few prices of cars for sale that I have found on the net are twice those numbers, sometimes even more than that. I realize asking prices and sale prices are often totally different animals. My experience with other makes is that the price guides are sometimes way off. I'm totally new to Olds H/O's. Any real world experience from those in the hobby would be appreicated. Thanks!

Try the HOCA website under their 'pricewatch'. It lists high, average, and low prices for H/O's in condition I, II, or III. It hasn't been updated since 4/06, but it will give you an idea. You might also consider having it appraised before buying.

They are fishing for the elusive impulse buyer that they have read and dreamed about.

My advise is look at a few cars. If your as new as you say. Look at a lot. Get to know the cars better than the owners do. Cash is king!

The last thing you want to do is pay to much for something that has hidden problems. Problems that only an Olds guy can spot.
You have all the time in the world. If they are in a hurry, walk away. There is always another car.

Oldsmobile's have their share of people to stay away from. Just like every other mark. You don't know who they are yet. But given the right amount of time you will.

Good luck to you! These are some really great cars.

Hey, thanks for the advice. Just happened to see this one at a gas station today. I have had trouble finding info on the '75 W-30 H/Os, I guess due to their relative rarity. Any particular trouble areas I should check out on this car? It looked solid as a rock, original paint, no rust bubbles anywhere. Just looked like it needed some cleaning. It is a second owner car, the first owner passed away and it sat in the garage for many years not driven. It sounded smooth running, and the interior looked very nice.
