Hi guys, *sorry, the heading should read '74 Cutlass S, not '73, habit I guess
I went by our local Pick n Pull today, looking for a few trim pieces for my '73. I found a '74 Cutlass S that was in really decent and remarkably complete condition. The car has a 350 4bbl, column shift automatic. I didn't examine the exterior closely, but it appears to have some minimal surface rust here and there, but all sheet metal appears to be straight, including complete front and rear bumpers. I did see rust through at the lower 1/4's behind the wheel wells, otherwise it seems pretty solid. I didn't have time today, but am going back tomorrow to pull the swivel bucket seats. I figure those are pretty desirable, even if they need complete recovering. I'll probably bring them with me to the OCA Nationals in Detroit next year if anyone is interested in them. I believe Pick n Pull will ship parts if there is something you need. This car looked more like a restoration candidate than a parts car by the way, probably due to being a local Dallas car. Anyway, contact me if you need details and I'll try me best to provide the info. If you want to contact Pick n Pull directly for parts etc., they have a web site. Click on the Dallas, Texas location located at 1359 N. Walton Walker Blvd.

Tony, sorry, there is no 1/4 window trim. They redid the vinyl top, and created an oval shaped opening over the window. The inside was done with headliner material over some form of padding or filler, kind of like the '73 H/O's but wrapped in the material.
Hurstolds1973, I've owned my '73 H/O since April 2002. I located it up in Michigan. It turns out, it was one of the two at the Centennial in Lansing in 1997. Little did I know at the time, that I'd be buying it 5 years later.

I went to that car today. It WAS pretty complete. I hope you got the seats Pete. They're gone. I got the lower door panels, rear seat side panels, interior rear quarter window trim, it was near perfect, the custom opera window quarter window panels were covered in Monte Carlo headliner material over light weight plastic and stuck in front of the factory window, it blocked the sun from baking these plastic parts like on so many Texas cars.
I could have done without the interior full of rat turds. I hope I didn't get a disease. I pulled the Oldsmobile script valve covers, I thought they only came on 73's but I believe that is the original engine on that car, built in 10-73 so I guess early 74 could have the scripted valve covers too. And I got the dual hump X member and stashed it with the valve covers in another car. I'll go back with more money and get them tomorrow. I got the emergency brake cable guides for sledhead too. Thanks for the heads up. I pretty much ransacked the car.
One thing I noticed of interest about that car besides the opera windows, it had swivel buckets with a column shift and no console. I didn't know you could order one that way.
I'm going back to get my hidden parts so if anyone wants something off this 74 Cutlass S let me know. I looked it over pretty well and can tell you if what you want is any good, but let me know TONIGHT people, August 15th, I'm going again tomorrow, don't read this in September and shoot it back to the top asking about something. It will be crushed by then.
The wheel well trim was in pretty good shape. I didn't go over it with a magnifying glass but all 4 were there and looked pretty nice. I didn't see any obvious door dings in them. One of them was partially removed but I think some one stripped a screw and couldn't get them all the way off. I think that's how I got the lower door panels. They were all ready to come off but the window cranks were held on with JB Weld, so who ever tried to get them just left them at that point. Channel locks are stronger than JB Weld so I got them now.:D Bumpers looked unrusted and straight but need a rechrome. Dash is all stickey and not much good. One bolt on center cap with a faded emblem, but the chrome looked nice. 442/Cutlass S Passenger rear tailight still usable too but the chrome around it was pitted. Lots of little things are good on this car, marker lights, underhood, and interior. Hell I bet it has the distributor hold down Zolav needs. I'll take a look. Carb is crusty but still there. Quadrajets are usually impossible to find complete but that one was still there this afternoon. Let me know folks...:D

I need a core support, but I am in Wisconsin! I can't imagine what it would cost to ship one, even if it was good, but if you check it for me, I might be interested. Every one I have seen up here has rust infront and below the battery.

The battery tray was rotted away, but the rest of the core support is in good shape I believe. I'll have to look again, or texxas8902 may have taken note of it when he was there earlier today. I plan on bringing some parts with me to the Nationals in Dearborn next year and could add the core support if you can wait that long.

If it's clean, yeah I can wait. I'm on a 3 year restoration plan :)

I'll let you know what I find out if texxas8902 doesn't get a chance to go by there tomorrow. If it's still there Saturday, and in good shape, I'll pull it for you.

I looked at it today. Battery tray is about 1/3 rusted away. I think the core support is intact and not rusted but I didn't look down low underneath. The front of that car has never been hit so it should be straight. It has a giant radiator in it too.
