I've seen a few cutlasses of our variaty with 20" or bigger rims, some are lifted and I've seen the spacers on ebay to get the lift. I think they look good, but I'm a fan of stock wheels. My car has 'em and I've got dog dishes and beauty rings on my F-150, love the look. What do you guys think?

Sorry but I think they look retarded and are useless. They offer no performance, handling or ride quality improvement. Most likely a detriment in all these areas and just for a certain look.:(

I agree with texx, seems to be more of an urban, ghetto type craze to me. But to each his own I guess.

WOW! Touched on a bad nerve there, sorry! I agree that they cost way too much, for me, the $3000+ could be better spent on body and paint. But at what size does a rim get too big, some of you guys have 17"s. I know that those have some better handaling, and I'm still staying stock!

There's a big difference between "pro touring" and "dubs". I believe you have more choices with 18" vrs 17" wheels/tires.

I like the stock wheels on most oldsmobiles for some reason . On trucks & the other gm products I sway towards cragars & american racing rims.... All good! Joe

Jay Leno took his 66 Toronado and put on 17" rims that he had made to look like the stock rims. I suppose if someone took the SSII wheels and made a 17"-20" version of it, they might look OK. Leno's Toro looks good with the 17" rims.

Of course, tires are expensive enough so why would I want to spend extra for tires? With that said, I have to say, I don't like what I've seen on ebay to date with the oversized wheels,

Ken those are CNC billet alloy wheels on Jay's Toro that cost more than most people make in a month. He was just out running around with it and I got a good look at it's wheels. Big difference.

I know they must be pretty expensive to have a set made. I don't think he has a cash flow problem. :D They look the same to me from the internet pix I saw. Kind of cool that you see this stuff driving around.

I CANNOT STAND the look of a `60's, `70's, or `80's American vehicle with 20" rims. Totally ruins the appearance of the vehicle and I'm sure the handling, etc. that has already been discussed. A Cutlass may look OK with a stock appearing wheel in a 16" or 17" diameter, but I think I'll stick to my stock 15x7 SS II's with the bolt on center caps, thank you very much! :D

Can anyone clue me in on why the 20" rims are called dubs? Sorry, I'm an uneducated white boy. :D

Personally, I don't care for the look of huge rims on our cars. However, there are lots of people in the DUB culture that have taken a huge liking to the 73-77 cars. With that being said, they need parts too. The more people that are saving them from being crushed, regardless on how we feel about what they do to them, the better it could be for us when it comes to aftermarket part manufacturers getting their shit together and getting us some parts! I don't want to see a 73 442 rollin on 24's with a six inch lift, but if it'll help me get quarters...

I can see 18/20, depends on the wheel design. 5 spoke? Yes. Cookie cutter/salad shooters? no

Paul - I gotta admit the wheels on your rides look pretty dang sharp! I don't think I'd go any bigger than 17's. There was an `83 H/O at the Bowling Green, KY Olds Nats. that had 17's (or maybe 18's) on it. They were polished aluminum and were the factory Olds SS III design. They were sharp lookin' wheels. I think Brad Bishop got a picture of them.

I see the big rim cars and expect a clown to step out with big red nose and huge shoes.

Actually I think rims have become an extension of one's jewelry. It seems the larger the rims, the less people are really "car people". I feel sorry for the cars! It's kind of embarrassing to the human race I think!

You have taken 2 of the motorhead classics of aftermarket wheels and just gotten larger versions and put them on vehicles that they fit with stylistically. Your slots almost look like the factory slots Ford made for those trucks at first glance. 99% of people wouldn't give your wheels a second look. I like it. Your truck is the twin to one that my friend just sold for $5500. Calypso coral and yellow. We could always find it in the swap meet parking lot.

I'd never put them on a classic muscle car, but I have 20's on my dd Mustang and I think they look like they belong.

The Mustang looks great! And I think that "DUB" is short for double because lowriders had 10" rims, so 20's are twice as big, saw it on Monster Garage. Rims always seem to be a real topic for debate, me and my bro' will see a car and argue for a half hour about what would look good on it. Seems we arn't the only ones!
