Anyone know where to get a set of forged flat tops for a 455 4.195 (070) over.
The 68 455 is already 60 over so need to look at custom pistons. Checked randomly today and received quotes from $915.00 to $984.00. Luckily I had a feeling that this would be an issue but hoping to cut the cost a little on this with regards to the rebuild.

Good luck. You have 3 choices. Cheapest to most exspensive.
A - Get a new block. Start over.
B - Bore it out more and go with a .060,455 Pontiac piston and 425 rod.
C - Pay the cabbage for the custom pistons.

Sorry, I was under the impression from your post that you did'nt want to spend big money on pistons. It doesn't matter anyway because you will not find a .070 piston or anyone to make them, cheap. That is why I suggested those options. Good luck with your search.

Diamond Pistons makes a killer piston for a reasonable price. Speak with Mike Pinetta and he will take care of you.
