I thought I had hit the mother lode last night finding some rare NOS sheet metal that I sorely need on ebay, several auctions all starting at 25.00 per part....and best of all, the parts are right in my backyard, so no shipping.
:D
I get up this morning to and check my ebay, and promptly spit coffee all over the keyboard!
NOS 73 RH fender (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/73-1973-CUTLASS-GM-NOS-NEW-RH-FENDER_W0QQitemZ250151298180)
NOS 73 supreme LH/RH rear quarters (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/73-75-CUTLASS-442-PAIR-GM-NOS-FULL-QUARTER-PANELS-RARE_W0QQitemZ250151296303)
NOS REAR WHEEL WELL ARCHES (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250151296362)
The guy has some other stuff too, I wasn't gonna post this stuff, cuz I didn't want to compete with anyone from here for the items, but they've gone out of my range already, so maybe some of you have more money than me and can use this stuff. Gonna be interesting to see if these items actually get paid for...

If you see "NOS" on any ebay auction expect big bucks, but I agree with you these prices are more than the average guy could pay for a driver!!! John

Those prices are plain crazy!!! There was an NOS GM `73 Cutlass S RH qtr. panel on ebay a few weeks back. I really wanted it, but it was "pick up only." Talked with the seller on the phone and he would not ship it. Couldn't find a way to get it from the East Coast to Colorado. The part got only one bid, sold for $550 :(

I saw that quarter, G. If I remember, he was located in the Philly area. I wished I knew you were looking into that. I mighta been able to make a road trip to pick it up. It would have been about 4 1/2 to 5 hours out. I hear there are good breweries in that general vicinity!

Gary, hopefully as the membership grows situations like this can be brought to the board and members can pitch in to help. I have a similar situation, found the parts cant get them home. My friend is on another forum, many members, and I have seen them shuttle parts from coast to coast. We are still spread rather thin, but watching the member tally suggests this may change.

I like the shuttle parts idea, count me in! That's what this site is for help on fixing up our cars. As far as 2900.00 for full quarters goes, some one realy wants to restore they're car. You might even say that there is a market for reproduction parts, HELLO Year One?!!

Man, I have sold several 73 quarter panels over the years, even some NOS ones and never got anywhere near HALF that money. I do believe that all that stuff came from Michigan. There was a guy who had a 73 Supreme on ebay for sale, he listed evey one of those parts for sale with the car.

I know Dennis, and I'm still kickin myself in the ass every day for not going out there and picking up that set of quarters from you. Oh well. That's what I get for being married with two kids!

Well, guys i'm that crazy person. I have been collecting NOS parts for a concourse restoretion on my first car. She will be going in the beauty shop in Janary when i'm home in Leesville, LA. I got to have some enjoyment from getting shot at everyday, right. So you all know the parts are safe in my garage.

In that case, we'll let it slide that they're going to a good cause. You have quite a significant collection there. Do us all a favor and get home safe to enjoy them. If you could, post some pics when you get a chance. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see them. Best of luck.
