I've started the tear-down phase of the frame-off restoration of my 73; I should have taken her for one last spin around the block, but oh well...

It's slow going, but I am taking my time, taking pics, bagging and tagging every part, nut and bolt that comes off so hopefully it'll be a little easier when it comes time to go back together. The list of parts I need to replace is growing longer all the time. I knew I had some rust on the battery tray but didn't realize that it had gone so far. I now need a new core support and the lower valance that goes between the bottom of the grille to the radiator, and the drivers side piece that goes up and bolts to the core support. I also need a passenger side bumper impact shock and bracket. I may be able to straighten those with some heat, but would rather replace if I can find them. Anyone know what the interchange is on the core support and bumper shocks?

Good luck on your restoration. Seems everyone of these cars I've taken apart has had rust under the battery tray. My '77 wasn't quite that bad, so I cut it out and welded in a patch panel. Keep us updated.
