Hello all,

I just registered on this forum after W451973 suggested it would have better info then another forum I was on. So a big thanks to him. I own a 1973 Cutlass S 442 clone. The car was my wife's grandmas up till she passed away. At one point, it was a show car and won many awards. After she passed on the car sat for 7 years in the western end of the UP. My wife and I got the car 3 years ago and have out the money we could into it. Being in the military means, I don't have a lot of extra cash on hand. Right now the car is sitting because I blew the engine up. About me, I am from Michigan and have lived on every great lake that Michigan touches. I have 7 years in the Coast Guard, never left Michigan for that for more then 8weeks at a time. Right now I am stationed on Lake Michigan near Traverse City. I am always looking for parts and help to get my olds in better shape.

Im glad to be here, nice to see a site that deals with the year that my car was made. Dennis is working with me about getting some parts to finnish up the donnor block that I have. Just it can be a pain to have to drive to Detroit from TC in hte summer with all the fudgies and Michigans Great Highway system.

Welcome to the site you puddle pirate, are you stationed at the air station? or Frankfurt? Sorry to here you know Dennis (j/k):D :D :D :D
I was just talking with a Senior Chief buddy of mine, saying I wounder if I made right choice getting out? turns out most people I sailed with are LT's and LT commanders, All started out as E-1's, I was well on my way made 2nd class (MK) in 3 years. Passed my e-5 courses before going to A school. I do miss it and other times I don't. I sailed on a big white one (ship for all you guys with your mind out of control)out of Boston and was stationed in Holland for a while also.

Anyways what parts do you need? I maybe able to find you some stuff

Look up Jacks auto repair in TC. He is a huge olds guy. He is an old dog and likes his olds stuff, but he knows were ever olds in the area is. He may be able to tell you were to look for parts. He is also a personal friend of Linda Vaughn. He has been into Olds for a long time. His name is Jack Toke (sp).

Yeah I'm at Station Frankfort. I too am an MK 2nd class with just over 7 in. 10 more months and I can go someplace else, not that Frankfort is bad just after Station Portage in da UP and here im going nuts.

Right now for parts I need to get the engine running, dropped a rod out the side of the old block. I have a block thats cleaned and checked and its all stock right now. A set of E heads for it which I need to get inspected and set up.

I have been told there is a place here in Frankfort called Hale Auto from what the UPS guy told me he has a ton of olds stuff. I will look up Jacks this weekend.

Welcome to the site! I'm a fairly new member myself and have found this to be a great source of info. I'm military myself - active duty Air National Guard stationed in Alpena.
