Can someone post a pic of the boxed control arm that is being reffered to? Is it the bolt in piece that the sway bar connects to that you are talking about?

It's not a true boxed control arm. There's a U channel piece that bolts into the arm making it boxed. Any 73-77 Cutlass rear lower control arm can be drilled for the U channel piece to make it "boxed". My 74 Supreme came with the standard suspension. I was lucky because the rear control arms were pre-drilled for the U channels so putting a rear sway bar on was simple! On other Cutlasses I've had, the rear arms were not drilled so the rear sway bar installation was a pain! It would be easier to get a set of pre-drilled control arms rather than precisely measuring and drilling them. The control arms are made out of hard steel! If you drill, you need a sharp and very high quality drill bit. A standard drill bit will be ruined in no time (ummm... ask me how I know! :p )

So sorry to hear your Laguna got squashed. I love Lagunas too. Pull as much as you can off of it. Alot of things will interchange with the 73-77 Cutlass. Do you have pics of your Laguna? I know this is an Olds site but I'd still like to take a peek!

Also that pic of the copper color 73 442 you posted in another thread... do you know the owner? I'm pretty sure it's the same car and owner I'm thinking of. We've emailed back and forth a few times and I helped him out with some parts and some info when he was restoring it. Super nice guy!

then I located a 75 76 laguna slope nose and got that all ready for getting installed, and finished the rear quarters in.

and the next few pics are 2 weeks before the snowstorm that took out my bro in laws garage where I just took the car to work on it in the heated garage. The roof collapsed from the weight of 11.5" of snow and 3.5" of ice 2 days later poor garage could not take the weight of it, ROOF cave in and then the side of garage fell over on my car, 2 - 6 x6 beams fell across both our cars my 76 laguna and his 80 prostreet camaro(HIS IS ALMOST FIXED BY THE WAY) mine took the brunt of the falling of the roof and beams crushed the roof and trunk area of my car.

So much with this falling in it blew the tires and cracked all 4 of my Ansen slots that were on the car. I had the interior out of the car so all that stuff wasnt damaged door and front clip was the only thing that did survive. Motor was not damaged either so was able to save that.

yea when you buy them you have to tell them if you want them drilled for the sway bar or not, they provide that at no extra cost BUT you have to specify it when you order them
