I have noticed in some pictures that most, or all, 73's have the two hood springs on the radiator support. My 73 HO has one spring with no provision to mount a second spring on the passenger side. What is up with that? Has my radiator support been replaced?

I'd say it's about a 50/50 split on `73's I've seen having one hood spring or two. My 442 had two originally but I took the passenger side out because I thought two springs held the hood up too much. All `73's should have provisions for two springs. It seems odd that yours doesn't. Don't really know what to say about that.

My Supreme has one spring and 2 spots. I bought mine from the original owners son and he was a always doing things to a tee. I found a Supreme in a boneyard and took off the springs for mine and realized that both springs on that car was smaller than my single one.

I have 2 1973 Cutlass S - both one owner cars
One of them has 1 and the other has 2.
The early production car has 2 and the other 1.

My '73 H/O has provision for two springs but only one came with the car when I bought it. I picked up a second spring in the boneyard and installed it. With the remote hood release and weight of the hood, I thought it was suppossed to have both. No adverse affects so far with both on there.

JWSOLDS,
My car was built the same week as yours. I believe a couple days before. 5/23 Thanks for the info on the 74. That was my next question. (When did olds go to one spring?) Other things on the car have led me to believe the car may have been in an accident at some point.
Thanks
