Flag emblems

While searching for parts in the junkyard, I spotted some flag emblems on a mid-'80s Ciera, and grabbed them (I also got 1 seat-belt for the swivel buckets, the other one will need some heat applied to the bolt first.) First of all, what was the significance of the flags anyway? Also, I found out that the ones I got are a perfect fit for the trunk, but too small for the fenders, anyone know where I can get the correct size ones? Or can I just pull off the fender ones, and replace (assuming they are not bolted from the rear) with the slightly smaller Ciera ones. Either way its better than the 3 chrome rectangles that are there now.

The flag emblems were on the Salon. It was to show that it was an "international" car. I assume these (what you found) are the same as what I'm talking about? The flags, if I remember my geography class represent the following countries:

USA, Canada, Belguim, Finland, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Denmark Italy Germany (West Germany)

They are bolted on the fender.
