The speedo just quit on my '77 Salon... previous owner said the cable snapped a while back, so he replaced it recently. Now, it worked for me briefly then quit. Ideas? Is this an easy fix? Please say yes. : )

i would check at the guage side first. the clip that holds it in may have came off.if so, disconect it at the trans and pull it from inside the car.this will allow you enough room to re connect it at the guage.they are tight and no x-tra play.if you have to replace it,do the same, guage side first trans side last. it's not that bad.but if it came off at the guage clip, make sure the clip is not bent. they sometimes get bent while replacing the cable and it wont hold if it is.
