My 77 cutlass is in need of paint, but it also needs some welding to replace rust. If welding weren't necessary I wouldnt be worried about removing the quarter panels. I am very new to anything involving restoration and painting, and I was wondering how troublesome it will be to remove the quarter panels for welding new metal near the wheel well and exhaust, as well as near where it meets the vinyl top. If I can pull some strings, Id basically have an entire body shop to myself for this job.
I know there is rust on the underside, just not how severe. It could be severely rotted on its underbelly, if thats the case Id basically just make the exterior look nice and wait for the inevitable decline of the entire vehicle.
