A member of the BuickV8 board has posted that he has connections with softseal and is close to producing T-Top seals for the 73-77 T-top cars. He has sent out a call for those who may be interested so he can report back to Sofseal. My good friend is a member of this board and I told him I would send out a roll call of possibilities. Don't have info yet on price but will keep you informed. So how about it? I'm down as number one let me know.

The w/strips on the '76 I'm restoring are still in pretty nice condition, but I would like to know a price if possible. Isn't there a couple different styles? I think I have the 1st generation t-tops.

I'll probably need a set for my H/O.
My H/O, I like that!

Yes you are correct, Fusicks has them for the 1st gen I believe. ($600!) I will ask for a clarification.

How can you tell the difference between 1st and 2nd design?

My H/O has the hatches without the chrome border, a 76 Regal I stripped had them with the chrome border. I was told the later was the second gen:confused: . Would make sense. I had also heard many were replaced to second gens because of leakage. I still have a problem with 6 foot of rubber being worth $600.

That's where I get confused? Mine have the chrome [stainless?] border. I thought the new [2nd] design didn't have a border? This is the style I have:

Is this 1st or 2nd?

Todd,
Yours are 1st generation. My 76 originally had them. In 1977 they were recalled and mine were replaced with the no border version. The 1st set were perfect, totally watertight. The replacements are OK, but not in an automatic carwash.

I first looked at this car in a major down pour, I mean it was raining hard, and there was no water inside the car. One of the reasons I bought it. So, I've heard I have the 2nd and now the 1st gen t-tops, I'm back where I started ;) . JK

Ok, I think I got it now. The 1st and 2nd designs are similar w/frames, and the 3rd is frameless. I was thinking the 1st had a frame and the 2nd didn't.

Steele's are about $600 also if I remember correctly. I just got their catalog in the mail about a month ago.
