Alright Rocket Men, Myth or fact? Are the Supreme engines offset one inch to the passenger side. Some header listings say some will not fit the supreme because of it. Some of the guys in the Olds Junction Chat room said it was BS and there is no offset, however, I think most of them are pre 73 guys. So might this be a 73 and up thing? That being said, the engine (350) in my 73 Supreme does set to the passenger side at least 1 inch. That is measuring from fender to fender to the center of the carb. I also measured from from the top A Frames to the heads and came up with the same offset. The engine seems to sit level and not be leaning to that side. Could it be the motor mounts? The engine doesn't seem to thrash around. I have scored a 72 455 that will eventually find its way into the engine bay, and would like to know if I face any challenges. Thanks for any help. Fire away.

Never had a problem with fitting of headers in any 73-77 Cutlass/Supreme. The 455 with headers will fit fine also. Only thing I changed on mine was the radiator. Fits like a glove.....

Thanks 73431Cutlass, It looked like I could fit them, any idea if the offset is a myth and I just have worn mounts or something, or if they were actually offset for a reason?

I've heard that the Grand Prix and Monte Carlo engines were offset to the rear, but never anything about the Cutlass offset to the side. I have also heard that all the G-body cars have an offset steering column fwiw.

yep engines are off set like you said, when you put your 455 in just run w/x/y/z manifolds and you will have no problem. 455 have a little taller deck and a little wider.
