I just picked up a 1973 Cutlass Supreme. 350 4Bbl. Auto. I discovered this forum wile doing a search for paint idea's, and general 73 Cutlass info.

Over the years I've owned several 64-72 A Bodies, and countless 78-88 G bodies. I've always been a fan of the 73-77's ever since I had my first 76 Cutlass back when I was 20. Do to the pricing of 64-72's I really see a surge in popularity for the 73-77's on the horizon.
I've also got a 77 Buick Special project too (along with way to many others...lol)

Well now I have a set of bookends. I picked up a 77, to go with my 73 Cutlass.
I was searching C/L for Cutlass parts, and stumbled across this 77 listed as a 77 "Olds Mobile" It was in the parts section, because the owner has a state restitution lien on the title. (any new owners can't transfer title, or register it, till the previous owners debt to the state is payed off... It's a really stupid system, that leads to lots of nice cars being parted out because they can't be sold)
Well when I saw it was a Totally rust free Salon, with Buckets, and Console. I had to make sure I saved it from a certain Demo Derby Death (Since those guys love the "No Title" car 'cuz they are cheap) And I have ways to get a title...lol.;)

Nice Save(s)! We Notherners cringe when we hear about nice cars like yours getting bashed for demo derbys, etc.:(

Welcome to the Board!
Nice couple of cars you got there. And I am sure everyone here will throw me under the bus, but that BUICK...with the S style roof, rust free I see... is a find.
I thought getting parts for our 73-77olds were tough..which they are, but I have a few folks I have met over the years with those year's Buicks, brutally tough to find parts for.
Hope you have fun with the two Olds you picked up to fix up!

I'm originally from Chicago, so I know exactly how you feel. I've only been in AZ just under 2 years. I'm still like a kid in a Candy Store down here, with all the rust free sheetmetal everywhere. I spend way to much time on C/L, wanting to save them all...lol.

There are 3 or 4 of these "new" members on the board. I'm not real sure what, who,or why it is, some weird person, program or bot that posts, on I would think, numerous sites off a key word or phrase. All the posts are off topic and completely erroneous. I vote these members get the boot.

It has a white vinyl roof, and white interior too. The roof is the only section with any rust. Vinyl takes a beating out here, and never last very long. I'm torn between removing the vinyl all together, or going with white, or black replacement.

I was wondering how I got so lucky to attract the bot to my post. Because if anyone ever saw the size of me they would know I'm not about to be "riding a bike" any time soon...:p

As an added benefit I now notice all bot posted threads receive 5 stars.:confused:

Well I had to let the 73 go, just to much rust around the roof for me. Back in the Midwest I could find good metal patch guys everywhere because they were used to it. Out here you say rust, and everyone freaks out, and wants a fortune to repair just pin holes.
I did pick up another 77 though. This time it's a Cutlass S. The kid selling it kept insisting it was a original 442, since it had the right roof, and buckets and console, and since the header and hood were replaced. The price was right no matter what, so I grabbed it. Is there a way to determine if it's a S or a 442 through the Vin, or elsewhere.

I was wondering if anybody else lived in Arizona, beside myself. Well as far as I know there is no sure way of knowing without a build sheet, but if you have a rally pack and the front and rear sway I'd say there could be a possibility. I'd just look over it some more. Have any pics of the interior?
