I recently got a set of C heads off of ebay, complete but unassembled, with the valves in a box. It came with 7 2.00" valves, and 1 2.07" valve, so I am a bit perplexed. They both slide in the valve seat and with your eyeball look OK, but surely there has to be an easy way to measure the seats and tell what the correct size for the head should be. Any solutions?

Also, if the heads are standard 2.00" valves, what has to be done to put the big ones in?

Depends on what year they are. They were used from 66 to 69.If they have the 2.00 inch valves they came off a 68-69 455 2bbl. The 2.077 valves came on the 66 442 w-30, 66-67 toro and 442, 67 442 w-30, and 68-69 toro and 442. The casting # is the same, 394548. Get a valve job on them and put in the 2.077 with 1.680 ext.

In addition to above, have hard valve seat installed at the time of the valve job. You may never have a problem with the original seats, but hard seats are cheap insureance.:)
