I need help, how do you tighten up the glove box key handle? and how do you get the key mechanism out? I have looked at everything and I'm stumped!!! I know someone on this sight has tore this apart and fixed it
Thanks

I'm in the same situation.
If I'm not mistaken, you need the key. For which I don't have for my spare

these lock are a three piece deal
1) is the crome knob and the tumblers, you install the key and then there is button you push on the inside to release the tumbles.
2) once tumblers are out the part the tumbles slide into unscrews from the part on the inside

The glove box lock cylinder has a nut that screws into the body of the lock so it stays tight. Having the key is a definate plus, but not entirely necessary, and I bought the tightening tool off ebay a while ago, its an 8 sided hex key that works pretty good. It takes some time but you can get the lock cylinder out with a pick and a pocket screwdriver. I took my glove box door off and sat at the computer desk for about an hour and got it handled. I will post a pic of the tool tomorrow.
