I lived in Jasper National Park (Alberta). There was a road that would take you up a few thousand feet to Mt. Edith Cavell. The mountain is 14,000 ft and has a year round glaicer. Here are a few pictures of the drive up the mountain. I was about 15 minutes from my home where this was taken. I noticed that not much has changed with my car since then. Even the paint job is the current one.

Awesome! Car looks great with such a majestic (only word I can come up with other than awesome again) backdrop. So, the question I have is, the car is still as nice today, is the glacier you mentioned still as big now as it was then?

WOW! awe inspireing pictures, what beautiful country you must live in, green with envy. With such a long ownership af this vehicle what is your mileage story? You have obviously not been afraid to drive your car. What was she at when purchased and where is she now?

I know the Columbia IceFields is shrinking. They have tours where you can drive on part of it with a special snow bus. The glacier on Mt. Edith Cavel (named for a WWI British nurse that treated both Allied and German injured) still looks the same, to me anyway.

When I bought the car it had 29,000 miles on it. Today after driving three times across Canada - almost (Vancouver Island - Montreal) and three times across the US (Seattle to Cape Cod) she reads 77,000 (177,000) on the odometer. The way I figure, if you marry a playmate, why sleep on the couch?:D

:D :D So... did you marry a playmate? :D :D
Glad you're having fun driving your car. I restored mine to drive too, not ride around on a trailer.
Incredible pics of the mountains and your 442, Ken. Wow!!! Probably even more spectacular than the Colorado Rocky Mtns.
Thanks for posting those. They look like calendar pictures. Yeah, they're that good!

The Trekkie in me wonders if you mean "TOS" Kirk or "ST V VI" Kirk, but I'll keep that thought to myself.
Oops.

More nice pics, Ken. The wedding pic as well as the mountain scenery shots. I thought the CO Rockies were impressive. Doesn't even compare to what you posted. Wow! I've only been to B.C. Canada. That was pretty too. Looks like I'll have to head north for another vacation!

I can only imagine what the view must be as you stand there taking those pictures. The picture of the people in the canoe, at first glance, appears to be a doctored photo. Looks like a sky shot with the canoe superimposed. If not for the rocks seen within the water it would be hard to tell. Around here clear water only comes from the faucet. The lakes and rivers are brown here, you truely are blessed with that land.

Moraine Lake (the last picture) used to be on the back of the old Canadian $20. (Valley of the Ten Peaks)
