Does anyone know where the Lansing plant stashed build sheets on '75s? Before I go pulling the back seat, door panels or playing contortionist up under the dash I thought I'd see what others may already know.

Some were under the back seat. Others were under (on top) of the gas tank and still others were inside the headliner. Those are the three places I've heard, where people have found their build sheets. Mine was under the back seat.

Usually under the back seat but I once found one under the driver's seat between the springs and foam on a 76 Vista Cruiser.

My brother and I have owned/own cars that were built in Lansing, MI and others built in Arlington, TX. We've never found a build sheet in a Lansing car. I guess we were unlucky and they ended up on the assembly line floor. The Arlington cars had the build sheets on top of the gas tank. My `73 442 had a full build sheet on the passenger side floor, between the metal and the tar paper sound deadener. It was right above where the muffler was, so most of the build sheet was too crispy to read :( A small corner of a second copy of the build sheet (that had the interior codes) was above the headliner. Of course this was in perfect condition! I've also found build sheets in other cars (parts cars, cars in junkyards, etc.) behind door panels and between seat springs and the foam.
Happy searching!

All my cars ( 74 76 and my 75 H/O) were Lansing cars, I never found any build sheets, ever.

My 77 is a Framingham, MA car. Found that build sheet under the rear seat. My 73 is a Lansing car, and like Gary, I found parts of my crispy build sheet under the tar paper sound deadener and the floor. It is hard to read, but you can make out upper and lower paint code 75, and the special car order form stating it to be Omega Red. There is also a red tag that says "Not to be removed by paint shop" which I thought was kinda neat. From the sounds of things, I lucked out that there was even a build sheet in that car.

Here is the under the gas tank sticker from my 76 442. It was under there for 27 years.

Finding a build sheet is a hit or miss proposition. More than likely the line worker stuffed it in the most convenient location as the car was going down the line or tossed it on the floor. I found a broadcast sheet in my Lansing built car under the carpet between the door sill plate and drivers seat. Another location I've heard of is on top of the glove box.

I found mine this weekend behind the only inside panel that was not taken off. It was on the passenger rear panel above the arm rest. I have never heard of them being put there. My car was built from Doraville GA so maybe they always put them there. Glad it was, it was kept in good shape being there.
