Hi there, my name is Yann, i'm 31 and i've always loved old US cars from the 60s & 70s. Here in France there's not much of them but there's a little community of several thousand people really loving those cars (and the way of life that fits with, Rock'n roll baby!!:D )
I own a 75 Cutlass Salon. It's a car that was sold new in Switzerland, in September 1975, and bought by a car collector in the 80s, until i found it in 2005, with only 50000 miles. It has the 350, with the TH-350. It's all stock, except Centerline rims (that are not on the car right now, cause i have to change the 4 tyres on it.)
I use it as often as i can, when the weather is good (or not too bad...).
One last thing about my username: Superdupont is a funny comics character, a ridiculous french patriot, full of clichés, makes me laugh a lot;) Don't worry, frenchies are not like that.

Hey, welcome to the site Yann! That's a sharp looking Cutlass you have. It looks alot like Zola's car, he's from Hungary if I remember correctly. Hope he finds his way to this site as well. These cars are getting harder to find here, I can just imagine how rare they are in Europe.

Hi, ragz442, thks for your welcome.
Yeah, i know Zola's car, i found his site, i was following the restoration of his car, and it seems that there were no updates since 2004! So i was wondering if he still had the car.
You're right, i don't know much of these cars here in France. I heard of one guy who's got the same as mine, in France too, same color but i never met him cause he's too far from me. I've never seen any other 75 Cutlass here with my own eyes...
The thing is, it's hard to find used parts, not as if you own a Corvette or a Camaro. There are plenty here, too much i think, in fact :D Probably one third of US cars in France are Corvettes or Camaros...

Nice ride. As far as finding parts.. We have it a little easier here in the US but mostly we have to search the junk yards. The restoration companies are just starting to reproduce stuff for these olds.

Yeah, you're right, hard here to find body or interior parts. For mechanical parts it's a little easier but it's often better for us to order in the U.S, parts are quite expensive here, and unfortunately we've got no junkyards :( (i'd love it! i could spend my sundays exploring a junkyard full of old US cars. Maybe you don't understand that, you must be used to that kind of things, but in France we're not!)

I'm here:)
I'm reading you but i don't post a lot cause it takes me two hours to write a single line:D But make sure i'm following you.
I've been very busy these days, by a big car show (here, a big car show is 3 or 400 cars...) pics: http://88.191.12.109/forum/index.php?showtopic=5977 Beware: no Cutlass pics!! Or maybe just one, a very ugly 68.
...and i'm very proud to see my baby's blue ass in the banner on the top! Thank you!

In fact i've got many questions to ask but as i explained i have to search a lot of translations and it's not so easy. Reading you helps me, i understand the most but not everything, i may express myself some day :D

Yann, don't worry about the translations. If you have questions, ask away. Ask it "en francais" if you wish. As you can see, almost everyone else here speaks english as their FIRST language and are still difficult to understand! lol.

Superdupont, do you know a Hungarian man living in Paris whose internet nick is Bagheera? He owns a 1989 Oldsmobile, he knows your car club and your meetings.
He says he wants to visit this year's big meeting here in Hungary with some of his French USA car enthuasist friends.
What a small world we're living in. :)

How funny! :)
Yes, i know him, i saw him 2 weeks ago, we have a monthly meeting. Last time he showed us a DVD with images of this meeting in Hungary, we talked about going there next year, could be great!
That makes a 3,000 km trip, but why not...
