The U.S. government wants to give your money back to you for crushing good cars. They tried shoving it in to the "stimulus" bill earlier but it didn't make it.

Years ago they tried that here and the car clubs got together and complained. It died...thankfully.

So I guess if this does actually make a comeback we need to get together signatures from the members on the site here to fight this crap. Hopefully it won't. They already have a cash for clunkers thing here in Texas but I believe it ran out of funding. The state was helping with $3000 down payments when you traded in your old car. There was a bunch of the buyback cars in a junkyard I frequent and the motors, transmissions and rear ends had orange paint sprayed and poured all over them and you couldn't buy any parts that had orange paint on them. Most of them still ran.
