Where was it mounted in our car's?
Does anyone on our forum have one?
Thank's for any information.

It's just another name for a vacuum gauge. More/less a gadget to keep your foot out of the throttle and save gas. It was in the right gauge pod, if you had it, you didn't have the other [more important...IMO] gauges.
I do believe it's kinda rare though, you do see them pop up on ebay.

My 74 H/O also has the knee knocker Motor Minder, and the 76 Ninety Eight has the factory gage- "Fuel Economy" it says. On a 5200 lb 455 equipped boat. Yah right.

I had one of the fuel economy gauges that I pulled out of a 76 Cutlass in a junk yard years ago. I had never seen one in person. It is a rare option. I put it on ebay and it sold for a spectacular $11 :p Moral of the story is even though the fueld economy gauges are very rare, people like the rallye gauges alot more! I tend to agree!

Dang- reminds me of a gage package I pulled out of a full-size 1975 Pontiac years ago, thinking it might be an easy and profitable sale. It had the vacuum gage in addition to oil, gas, temp and volts.
I know if I had owned a 71-76 FS Pontiac, I'd have been all over something like that, but it took three years to sell it and barely got my money back on it.
Then a ratty set of Firebird gages got snapped up quick for good money, even with only a 6-grand tach. I guess they worked, nobody called back to complain, and I told the buyer up front they had not been tested.
Yup. Never know what people are really looking for.

jon the one you are talking about is the one I am looking for.
I believe it mounted below the steering column lap vent in the 73-75 HURST OLDS cars.
Jon could post a picture or two of yours.
Thank's Miles

You all aren't joking... " Knee Knocker!"
That would be in the way, but its cool rare option... no wonder they didnt survive, they all got ripped out or kicked off!

weren't these essentially the same concept as the original 442 vacuum economy tachs used in the mid 1960's. I have a tach that lets you know when you are obviously too much into the pedal. I thought these were basically the same idea.

Jon, Stewart Warner must have used two different types of face plates for the Motor Minder, here is a better picture. Mine does not look like the one in the Hurst supplement book, I think mine is the later version. It was on the car when my grandfather brought it new...

Yes. 442 could have either a vacuum gage or tachometer 64-67. Buick and Pontiac also utilized them in mid and full size cars, though Chevrolet tended to stick with a tach. I've seen only a few Impala SS with vacuum gage and don't remember ever seeing a Chevelle with one.
I guess it could be a handy instrument, though it was really kinda gadgety. But gadgety sold cars.

7hurst4, you may be right. Mine is so faded I can't really tell much about it anymore, but it appears to have the version with the bars instead of "economy/deceleration" zones.

Does that esc have any parameters you need to set up or is everything pre-set? Do you have a different esc to try with that motor? Your battery is charged for sure? You know about the esc arming sequence?
Post foul! 10 yard penalty.
