I have been watching that tach since 6 days and 22 hours left in the auction. I have asked the seller if he would sell a copy of the 7 page technical pamplet that he has with the tach. He wants $30 bucks. but he will include shipping free. I was hoping $10 or so and then maybe I could fix the broke one I already have. $30, damn, for 7 copies, an envelope and a stamp. I'll probably pay, it is better than battling 4447robert and paying $650 or more for that tach. I'm watching it though.

I have bought things from him before. He is honest and a good EBAY vendor but he does want a good buck for his stuff. It's all quality stuff from him and you will not get any surprises.

That may be, but upon closer scrutiny of my e mail to him and his reply I MOST certainly have some doubts about this guy.
Brengirl,1974 Indydelta, if you don't mind, what did you buy from this guy and what is your Ebay handle?
The tach is listed with a seller of milesmonte with a feedback of 54 and I asked him a question about the tach. I got a reply from an ebayer council94 with a feedback of over 1024 signed Miles. Looks like the same guy to me. Are these the same guy? So if they are... in looking at old feedback council94 buys stuff and leaves feedback for milesmonte and how the hell does milesmonte's ebay messages get answered by council94? Very fishy. Buying your own stuff because it didn't bring a high enough price? Trying to run up the price and the real buyer stopped bidding? I would certainly think twice before bidding on this tach. They are both from Kansas. In looking at feedback he has bought his own item at least once.
I know you guys don't know me and may even think I may just be trying to get others not to bid on this tach so I can try to get it cheaper, but that is not the case. I still have the Ebay message and the tach is still for sale and they have the 2 different ebay accounts on them. I call bullshit.
Also it is a private auction so you wouldn't even know if he is bidding on his own stuff, using council94. Complete crap.
I would like the tach but I am sure as hell not gonna lay my hard earned cash out when it looks like a ripoff. Maybe I'm all wrong on this but what I wrote is the truth.
Buyer Beware.

The tach I was referring to was listed by an EBAY seller named "Drolds2u." That was the EBAY listing for the number the "sumrof75" posted in this thread....you must be tracking a different item on EBAY honey because nothing you mentioned in your post to me has any thing to do with the listing mentioned above. It was sold today for $500 to a guy named "ho73."

As DeltaIndy stated, I to have bought from Drolds2u, great person to work with item was not cheap but was in top notch condition. And price was not unreasonable for the item it was. When I posted the tach it truely was the niceest I had seen to this point. I am also curious if we are looking at the same item. post the link or number if you would please. I am also interested in the dishonest sellers and would like to check this out.

$961 and didn't meet reserve. That 75 H/O on Ebay is $1000 for the whole car.

Typical mild summer day, that's pretty funny. We don't have that here. I was in L.A. last summer in July. It was 85 at the most there, back in Texas it was 105.:p In L.A. mild summer day, in Texas brutal summer day. The L.A. weather was a nice break from the Texas heat. Petersen Museum was cool. Gonna check out NYC this July.
I have one of the digital tachs from my long gone 74 H/O. It worked great for years and I never had the heat problems with it. I would agree it is more of a novelty than a good piece of performance equipment. Hurst mounted it too far from line of sight. I didn't want to drill holes in my 442 console to use the tach in my current car so I mounted it with 3M 2 sided tape. It quit working 2 weeks later. Know anyone who repairs them?
I was watching those on Ebay, so $650 would be a bargain for the one tach it went to $961 and didn't meet reserve. I didn't pay that much for my whole car! The other sold for $500 and was untested, which generally means it doesn't work, when reading between the lines.
Got some bigger pictures, inside and out, of your rear window?

Know anyone who repairs them?
There's a place here in metro Detroit called Specmo. They specialize in GM electronics. I use to send them digital clusters alot in the early 90's. Not sure, but they may be able to help you out. You can find them easy with a Google search. Email them and see what they say.

Rather than spend $400+ I opted for this 'gem' for my H/O.

Instead of a needle, the entire face rotates exposing only certain numbers. :) Kinda 70's cool/cheesy.

These digital tachs are going for more than I paid for my H/O.
